Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractModel Identification and Wall-Plug Efficiency Measurement of White LED ModulesAhmed Zurfi, Jing ZhangIn this study, an experimental method is developed to measure the Wall-Plug efficiency of white LED modules without using any apparatus or sensors to measure the intensity of light. The tested LED module consists of a white LED chip-on-board affixed on a heatsink. The proposed method is mainly based on thermal and electrical models of the LED module. Measurements of … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 2 · 15 Jun 2016 · 8,296 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEMERGING TRENDS IN ADAPTIVE COMPUTATION FOR MOBIQUITOUS SYSTEMSJesus FriginalThe future is in networked embedded systems. This affirmation is based on the principle that networked embedded systems will make possible the development of more intelligent living, work, entertainment, energy production systems and transport environments. It is estimated that the number of networked smart objects on a planetary scale will increase beyond20 billion units by 2020, thus promoting the emergence … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 19 Aug 2014 · 8,315 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractNeuroprotective Effect against Cerebral Ischemia of Passiflora foetidaJintanaporn Wattanathorn, Natcha Sattroopinat, Terdthai Tong-Un et al.Problem statement: Although cerebral ischemia induced by stroke has been regarded as the important problem worldwide, the therapeutic efficacy is still inadequate. Since the free radicals are implicated in the pathophysiology of cerebral ischemia, the prophylactic protection against stroke with neuroprotective agent possessing antioxidant effect has gained much attention. Therefore, this study was designed to determine whether the alcoholic extract … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 16 Feb 2012 · 8,245 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractVision-Based Obstacle Avoidance of Mobile Robot Using Quantized Spatial ModelSalaheddin Odeh, Rasha Faqeh, Laila Abu Eid, Nihal ShamasnehProblem statement: Problem of moving a robot through unknown environment has attracted much attention over past two decades. Such problems have several difficulties and complexities that are unobserved, besides the ambiguity of how this can be achieved since a robot may encounter obstacles of all forms that must be bypassed in an intelligent manner. This research had been aimed to … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 8,061 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEffect of Environmental Comfort Factors in Enclosed Transitional Space toward Work ProductivityQi Jie Kwong, Nor Mariah Adam, Sai Hong TangProblem statement: The investigated area in this study was the enclosed lift lobby, which distinguishes itself as a unique form of region categorized under building transitional spaces. Such region may act upon on the work performance of occupants, as occupants are sensitive towards the conditions of immediate surroundings. The objective of this study was to investigate the occupants’ perceptions of … …American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 3 · 30 Jun 2009 · 7,327 accessesView PDFCite
