Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordA Review on Recent Research and Implementation Methodologies on Medical Image SegmentationS. K. Somasundaram, P. AlliProblem statement: Image segmentation plays a very important role in digital imaging applications for classifying the anatomical structures and other Regions of Interest. Segmentation refers to the process of identifying and isolating the surface and regions of the digital image which corresponds to the structural units. Approach: In the past few decades, many methods have been proposed to segment the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 4 Nov 2011 · 7,121 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAn Efficient Implementation of Weighted Fuzzy Fisherface Algorithm for Face Recognition Using Wavelet TransformEsther Annlin Kala James, S. AnnaduraiProblem statement: The paper addresses the face recognition problem by proposing Weighted Fuzzy Fisherface (WFF) technique using biorthogonal transformation. The weighted fuzzy fisherface technique was an extension of Fisher Face technique by introducing fuzzy class membership to each training sample in calculating the scatter matrices. Approach: In weighted fuzzy fisherface method, weight emphasizes classes that were close together and deemphasizes … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 26 Oct 2011 · 7,351 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordBraun's Multipliers: Spartan-3AN based Design and ImplementationMuhammad H. Rais, Mohammed H. Al MijalliProblem statement: Multiplication is an essential airthematic operation for common Digital Signal Processing (DSP) applications, such as filtering and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). To achieve high execution speed, parallel array multipliers are widely used. Approach: The field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) is currently the dominant and viable technology that could be implemented and reconfigured at the same time. Results: The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 11 · 18 Aug 2011 · 6,912 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordDesign and Implementation of Medical Information Systems For Managing and Following up Work Flaw in Hospitals and ClinicsHassan Mohammed M. ElmetwalyProblem statement: This research study deals with the problem of maintaining data, deemed to be one of the biggest problems of health entities. Most hospitals and clinic suffer loss of data saved in this databases and unavailability of strong cohesive information systems. Approach: Our need for such databases and information systems motivates us to seek solutions and technologies that might … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 16 Dec 2010 · 8,821 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordThe Design and Implementation of a Novel Skew Scenario Model in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksN. Vetrivelan, A. V. ReddyProblem statement: In this research, it had been presented a novel Skew Scenario Model that has been developed and implemented for mobile ad hoc networks. There exist several mobility patterns that try to capture the behavior of the mobile devices under different circumstances, whereas in our work, the direction movement of the nodes is significantly specified horizontally, vertically and diagonally … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 6,926 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordDesign and Implementation of Parallel Subunit for Synthesis Mathematical ModelsIssa M. ShehabatProblem statement: Mathematical modeling of different natural and technical objects and processes is one of the most important directions that needs high performance computing with huge memory. To reduce the computational time and expenses we need to carry out the calculations on specialized subunits. Approach: We described a self-organizing approximation method and introduced a new methodology of structural synthesis of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 6,922 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAutomated Position System Implementation over Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks in 2-Dimension SpaceSoumen Kanrar, Mohammad SirajProblem statement: The real world scenario have changed from the wired connection to wireless connection. Over the years software development has responded to the increasing growth of wireless connectivity in developing network enabled software. The problem arises in the wireless domain due to random packet loss in transport layer and as well as in data link layer for the end … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2010 · 7,196 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordDesign of Sustainable Relief Housing in Ethiopia: An Implementation of Cradle to Cradle Design in Earthbag ConstructionBrooke Barnes, Huantian Cao, Theodore Drab, Jason PearsonProblem statement: Urbanization in Ethiopia resulted in urban poverty and homelessness. In this study, a sustainable relief housing prototype that aided in sheltering homeless citizens was designed. To avoid repeating errors in urban development such as unsustainable resource consumption, it was necessary to look beyond traditional construction materials and methods. Approach: This design applied cradle to cradle design model to … …American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 30 Apr 2009 · 7,292 accessesView PDFCite
