Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordForecasting Air Temperatures Using Time Series Models and Neural-based AlgorithmsMahmoud M. Smadi, Farouq S. MjalliRecently, neural network models have been popular and found useful for forecasting a wide variety of time series data in many disciplines. This is due to their favorable modeling properties of simplicity, fault and noise tolerance and their capability to adapt to process changes. Nevertheless, applications in climatology have been less widespread than other disciplines such as economics. In this … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 3, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2007 · 7,272 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordThe Performance of Maximum Likelihood, Spectral Angle Mapper, Neural Network and Decision Tree Classifiers in Hyperspectral Image AnalysisHelmi Zulhaidi Mohd Shafri, Affendi Suhaili, Shattri MansorSeveral classification algorithms for pattern recognition had been tested in the mapping of tropical forest cover using airborne hyperspectral data. Results from the use of Maximum Likelihood (ML), Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM), Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Decision Tree (DT) classifiers were compared and evaluated. It was found that ML performed the best followed by ANN, DT and SAM with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2007 · 142,381 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordExploring Strategies for Parallel Computing of RS Data Assimilation with SWAP-GAShamim Akhter, Kiyoshi Honda, Yann Chemin, Putchong UthayopasAn agro-hydrological simulation model is useful for agriculture monitoring. One issue in running such model is parameter identification, especially when the target area is large such as provincial or country level. Remote Sensing (RS) provides us with useful information over large area. RS cannot observe input parameters of agro-hydrological models directly. However, a method to estimate input parameters of such … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2007 · 7,209 accessesView PDF Cite
