Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimization of Ultrasonic/Microwave Assisted Extraction (UMAE) and Rheological Properties of Polysaccharides from Auricularia polytrichaZe Zhang, Xiao Ding, Ziyi Xu et al.Polysaccharides from Auricularia polytricha (APPS) were extracted using Ultrasonic/Microwave Assisted Extraction (UMAE) technology. UMAE conditions of APPS were optimized with Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Rheological properties of APPS were investigated. The results suggested that the optimal UMAE conditions for APPS were ratio of water to raw material 22 (mL/g), extraction time 15.3 min and microwave power 59W. APPS solution exhibited … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 16, Issue 1 · 14 Mar 2020 · 7,420 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThe Development of New Molecules Having Antiemetic Activity Using Molecular ModelingKhalil Errahmane Kanouni, Yacine BenguerbaThe solubility of a drug in water or in the blood represents the most desired parameter in medicine. Our aim is to obtain molecules with properties more effective than those of metoclopramide. In this work, two molecules with high solubility are constructed. Metoclopramide (a benzamide derivative) is a dopamine receptor antagonist used as an antiemetic drug. Its solubility in water … …Current Research in Bioinformatics, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 27 Feb 2020 · 6,664 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAnalytical Fractured Reservoir Characterization by using Geological and Petrophysical LogsZohreh Movahed, Farzaneh AghajariDue to structural complexities in some wells, higher than the expected thickness of the Asmari formation is found. Fracture intensity and deep-rooted fractures broadly increase the risk of unpredictable water production. The well-test analysis is not sufficient in describing fracture properties. Unfortunately, the core condition is poor in the fractured zones and cannot be used to provide reliable information. So, … …Current Research in Geoscience, Vol. 12, Issue 1 · 3 Dec 2022 · 9,927 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEvaluation of the use of Polyurethane Residue Aggregated to the Plaster of Civil ConstructionGuilherme Moraes de Oliveira, Vittória Caroline Souza dos Santos, José de Souza, Tatiana Louise Ávila C. RochaThe study deals with the reuse of Polyurethane (PU) obtained from a kitchen sponge added to plaster for use in civil engineering. The kitchen sponge is an item widely used by the population in their daily lives, generating a significant accumulation of waste. Thus, from the analysis of the properties of the kitchen sponge, it was seeking possible reuse of … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 4 · 27 Nov 2019 · 7,142 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPermanent Magnetic FluidsNicolae Petrescu, Florian Ion Tiberiu PetrescuA team of researchers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst has accidentally obtained the first magnetized permanent liquid in the world, the droplets of this liquid moving in unison and able to associate in different forms while being manipulated exterior by means of a magnet, according to a new study published in the latest issue of the journal Science, reports … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 3 · 22 Aug 2019 · 8,842 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEffect of Slum Water on Physiology of Heteropneustes fossilis Collected from Silchar, AssamRubina Roy, Bijoy Brahma, Satabdi Bhattacharjee, Soumitra NathPoverty and overpopulation are not just prevailing in big cities, but have also become a matter of concern in small towns. Safe drinking water is considered a basic human need, yet millions of people do not have access to an adequate and safe water supply. The present study is focused on the quality assessment of water bodies of slum areas … …American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 1 · 11 Feb 2019 · 7,912 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEffectiveness of the Anaerobic Haylage Method for Flax Waste Utilization in the Diet of Friesian Holstein CowsRuly Budiono, Joko Kusmoro, Erin Nurinsani Waafi, SukonoThe haylage dry feed fermentation method is one of the methods of preserving grass feed, dried herbs, or dry agricultural waste for animal feed. This study aims to determine the quality of hemp flakes waste that has been dried for 6 months and has a water content of <3% using the Haylage method. The research parameters include physical quality, pH, … …OnLine Journal of Biological Sciences, Vol. 26, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2026 · 1,271 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractComparative Antioxidant Effects of Essential Oil Blends and Individual Oils Using the DPPH Radical-Scavenging AssaySunghun Jang, Jae Kyung KimOxidative stress is recognized as a major contributor to conditions such as cancer, aging, and inflammation. Consequently, there is a growing interest in the use of natural antioxidants, particularly essential oils, owing to their safety benefits and potent antioxidant properties. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant effects of four essential oil blends (Refresh, Zest, Revitalizing, and … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 21, Issue 3 · 5 Jan 2026 · 2,648 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractInfluence of Bitumen Addition on Sabkha Soil Shear Strength Characteristics under Dry and Soaked ConditionsFahad A. Alotaibi, Humoud Melfi AldaihaniHigh salt content in sabkha soils means they are significantly affected by changes in water content. Dissolution of salts within sabkha soil mass decreases their shear strength upon inundation with water, resulting from the destruction of cementation bonds between soil particles. Therefore, successful improvement for these soils must be based on reducing the dissolution of sabkha salts to minimize their … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 4 · 13 Nov 2018 · 7,388 accessesView PDFCite
