Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDeep Transfer Learning Approach for Student Attendance System During the COVID-19 PandemicSlimane Ennajar, Walid BouarifiMarking students' attendance has been a challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a time-consuming task due to the abnormally high number of students present during a learning session; many studies have been proposed to improve the system. However, there are still issues with each of these systems; we have employed deep transfer learning techniques using six pre-trained convolutional neural … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 3 · 16 Jan 2024 · 6,010 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsFace Recognition as a Biometric ApplicationRelly Victoria Virgil PetrescuA facial recognition system is a technology capable of identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. There are multiple methods in which facial recognition systems work, but in general, they work by comparing selected facial features from the given image with faces within a database. It is also described as … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 14 May 2019 · 18,781 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsPedestrian Recognition Based on Multi-Scale Weighted HOGMonther Hussein Al-BsoolPedestrian recognition receives a great attention in recent years due to its importance in traffic accidents identification. Traffic surveillance systems can provide valuable information for pedestrian recognition using computer vision and image processing techniques. Most techniques exploit simple feature extraction and multi-stage feature matching to train classifiers. In this study, Canny edge information and Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) has … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 11 · 7 Nov 2018 · 7,158 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsTHE ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM BASED ON LINEAR DISCRIMINANT ANALYSISWidodo BudihartoFace recognition represents an important computer vision domain that has been researched in the last decades. The objective of this research is to develop an Access Control System based on Face Recognition using Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) method. The analysis is done by making an application of face recognition using LDA for extracting features of the face and the output … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 29 Nov 2013 · 6,936 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsOnline Arabic Handwritten Character Recognition Based on a Rule Based ApproachSaad M. Ismail, Siti Norul Huda Sheikh AbdullahHandwriting recognition is a very challenging problem. Much work has been done on the recognition of Latin characters but limited work has been done on recognizing Arab characters. Most Arabic handwriting recognition in previous works focused on recognizing offline script and little take the online cases. The main theme of this study is on-line handwritten Arabic character recognition. A successful … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 25 Sep 2012 · 7,193 accessesView PDFCite
