Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEstimation of the Parameters of the Stochastic Differential Equations Black-Scholes Model Share Price of GoldKhaldi Khaled, Meddahi SamiaProblem statement: The estimation of the parameters is one of main problems of the dynamic models in many scientific fields and particularly in economics and finance. In this study, we examine the techniques of estimation of the parameters of the Black-Scholes model. These techniques are based on the function of probability. Approach: The two estimations are based on the likelihood … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 6, Issue 4 · 24 Dec 2010 · 7,711 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSecurity Guard Robot Detecting Human Using Gaussian Distribution Histogram MethodMbaitiga ZacharieProblem statement: The purpose of any robotic is to perform tasks that a human would prefer not to do or hopefully do it with precision in order to avoid mistakes or when a human is out of duty due to fatigue or health reasons. The research into human detection into images has paid the way be aware of what is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 10 · 5 Aug 2010 · 7,056 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOn Calculating Activity Slack in Stochastic Project NetworksGary MitchellProblem statement: Identifying critical tasks in a project network is easily done when task times are deterministic, but doing so under stochastic task times is problematic. The few methods that have been proposed contain serious drawbacks which lead to identifying critical tasks incorrectly, leaving project managers without the means to (1) identify and rank the most probable sources of project … …American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2010 · 8,227 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEvaluation of Liquefaction Return Period for Bangalore Based on Standard Penetration Test Data: Performance Based ApproachK. S. Vipin, T. G. SitharamProblem statement: The conventional liquefaction evaluation is based on a deterministic approach. However in this method the uncertainty in the earthquake loading is not properly taken into account. However recent research in this field indicates that this uncertainty in the earthquake loading has to be considered in the liquefaction potential evaluation. Moreover the evaluation of liquefaction return period is not … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2009 · 7,741 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractReducing Broadcast Overhead Using Clustering Based Broadcast Mechanism in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkN. Karthikeyan, V. Palanisamy, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: Network wide broadcasting is an important function in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET), which attempts to deliver packets from a source node to all other nodes in the network. Broadcasting is often very useful for route discovery, naming, addressing and helping multicast operations in all kinds of networks. For designing broadcast protocols for ad hoc networks, one of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2009 · 7,031 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAnalytic Performability Model of Vertical Handoff in Wireless NetworksGowrishankar, G. N. Sekhar, P. S. SatyanarayanaProblem statement: The next generation wireless systems should be designed to support heterogeneous traffic with seamless mobility. A single network alone cannot cope up with such heterogeneous requirements. Hence it is desirable to interoperate between diverse and complementary Radio Access Technologies (RATs). In such system, user will switch between different Radio Access Technologies (RATs) to satisfy the User/application requirement and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2009 · 7,230 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDevelopment of Deduced Protein Database Using Variable Bit Binary EncodingB. Parvathavarthini, B. Rajesh Kanna, L. RajeswarideviA large amount of biological data is semi-structured and stored in any one the following file formats such as flat, XML and relational files. These databases must be integrated with the structured data available in relational or object-oriented databases. The sequence matching process is difficult in such file format, because string comparison takes more computation cost and time. To reduce … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2008 · 6,512 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Efficient Implementation of Re-Sampling Technique for High Performance Multiple Classifier SystemsS. Sathiyabama, K. Thyagarajah, D. AyyamuthukumarDue to the large size of the database, the entire training dataset could not be used to construct the classifiers. One popular solution is to separate stream data into chunks, learn a base classifier from each chunk and then integrate all base classifiers to form Multiple classifier system (MCS). Sometimes this data streams does not include all the classes in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2007 · 7,014 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHybrid Optimize Strategy based QoS Route Algorithm for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksFu Peng, Zhang DeyunIt is very difficult to find feasible QoS (Quality of service) routes in the mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), because of the nature constrains of it, such as dynamic network topology, wireless communication link and limited process capability of nodes. In order to reduce average cost in flooding path discovery scheme of the traditional MANETs routing protocols and increase the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2006 · 6,546 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFLANN Detector Based Filtering of Images Corrupted by Impulse NoiseBanshidhar Majhi, Mowafak FathiWe present a novel non-linear scheme for image restoration based on neuro-detector using Functional Link Artificial Neural Network (FLANN) followed by an improved spatial filter. The method is applied to images corrupted by impulse noise with varying strengths and different noise probability. The neural detector is based on the concept of training or learning by examples. When trained properly, the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2005 · 7,237 accessesView PDFCite
