Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAmeliorate Fuzzy C-Means: An Ameliorate Fuzzy C-Means Clustering Algorithm for CT-Lung Image SegmentationJ. Bridget Nirmala, S. GowriEffective and efficient image segmentation acts as a preliminary stage for the computer-aided diagnosis of medical images. For image segmentation, many FCM-based clustering techniques have been proposed. Regrettably, the existing FCM technique does not generate accurate and standardized segmentation results. This is due to the noise present in the image as well as the random initialization of membership values for … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 1 Oct 2013 · 6,819 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Non-Iterative Method for Factorization of Positive Matrix in Discrete Wavelet Transform Based Image CompressionNallathai Perumalsamy, Nithyanandam NatarajanA non-iterative method of factorizing a 4×4 positive matrix, with the application to image compression is explained using an example. The procedure is applied to all the 4096 number of 4×4 pixel sub-blocks of a 256×256 image for compression. The proposed compression technique can be applied to the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) coefficients of the test image. The 16 Pixel … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 7 · 17 Jun 2013 · 6,542 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDistribution Key in Eight Bit's Color Image AlgorithmHamdi A. Al-Omari, Malek M. Al-Nawashi, Mohammed J. BawanehProblem statement: The networked multimedia systems have glorified the necessity for image copyright protection. To solve such problem an invisible structure called watermarking is added to an 8-bits color image in aim to mark it. The structure can be added by selecting bits under certain conditions; a few pixels of correspondence between the image and the ASSCI code. Approach: In … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 25 Oct 2011 · 6,991 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAccurate Orthogonal Circular Moment Invariants of Gray-Level ImagesKhalid Mohamed HosnyProblem statement: Orthogonal circular moments of gray level images such as Zernike, pseudo Zernike and Fourier-Mellin moments are widely used in different applications of image processing, pattern recognition and computer vision. Computational processes of these moments and their translation and scale invariants still an open area of research. Approach: a unified methodology is presented for efficient and accurate computation of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 7,787 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractRadiometric Correction of Multitemporal Satellite ImagerySeema Gore Biday, Udhav BhosleProblem statement: Repeated observation of a given area over time yields potential for many forms of change detection analysis. These repeated observations are confounded in terms of radiometric consistency due to changes in sensor calibration over time, differences in illumination, observation angles and variation in atmospheric effects. Also major problem with satellite images is that regions below clouds are not … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2010 · 8,393 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Particle Swarm Optimization Based Edge Preserving Impulse Noise FilterS. Mohamed Mansoor Roomi, P.L. Muthu Karuppi, P. Rajesh, B. Guru RevathiProblem statement: Image sensors and communication channels often introduce impulse noise in image transmission. The most common filters available to remove such noise are median filter and its variants but the major drawbacks identified with them are blurring of edge detail and low noise suppression. To preserve the sharp and useful information in the image, the filtering algorithms are required … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2010 · 7,470 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImage Morphing Concept for Secure Transmission of Image Data Contents over InternetAnant M. Bagade, S.N. TalbarProblem statement: Morphing of images has evolved and become a challenging field in information hiding and data security. The objective of this study is to secure the image data over internet while transmitting using the concept of image morphing Approach: To address this issue, the study proposed the new approach for image data security using the concept of image morphing. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2010 · 7,208 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSolving Square Jigsaw Puzzles Using Dynamic Programming and the Hungarian ProcedureNaif AlajlanProblem statement: To design, implement, and test an algorithm for solving the square jigsaw puzzle problem, which has many applications in image processing, pattern recognition, and computer vision such as restoration of archeological artifacts and image descrambling. Approach: The algorithm used the gray level profiles of border pixels for local matching of the puzzle pieces, which was performed using dynamic … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2009 · 7,690 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHiding a Large Amount of Data with High Security Using Steganography AlgorithmNameer N. EL-EmamThis study deals with constructing and implementing new algorithm based on hiding a large amount of data (image, audio, text) file into color BMP image. We have been used adaptive image filtering and adaptive image segmentation with bits replacement on the appropriate pixels. These pixels are selected randomly rather than sequentially by using new concept defined by main cases with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2007 · 8,617 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Efficient Ant Algorithm for Swarm-Based Image ClusteringSalima Ouadfel, Mohamed BatoucheA collective approach to resolve the segmentation problem was proposed. AntClust is a new ant-based algorithm that uses the self-organizing and autonomous brood sorting behavior observed in real ants. Ants and pixels are scatted on a discrete array of cells represented the ants’ environment. Using simple local rules and without any central control, ants form homogeneous clusters by moving pixels … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2007 · 7,155 accessesView PDFCite
