Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleECONOMIC AND PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF STOCHASTIC MODEL ON A BASE TRANSCEIVER SYSTEM CONSIDERING VARIOUS OPERATIONAL MODES AND CATASTROPHIC FAILURESRajeev Kumar, Sunny KapoorIn this study a stochastic model for a Base Transceiver System (BTS) is proposed that consists of various hardware and software components. A Base Transceiver System (BTS) may undergoes four modes during its operation viz normal, congestion, down and failure mode. The hardware and software components may have various types of major and minor faults. The occurrence of a minor … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 9, Issue 3 · 22 Jul 2013 · 7,075 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePerformance Evaluation of Probabilistic Relay in Ad Hoc On-demand Distance Vector and Ad Hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector Under Highly Dynamic EnvironmentsRadityo Anggoro, Teruaki Kitasuka, Ryoji Nakamura, Masayoshi AritsugiVehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) are a specific class of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). Since vehicles tend to move in a high speed, the network topology is rapidly changed. Thus vehicle’s connectivity problem is one of the interesting issues in VANETs. Ad hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) is an extended version of ad hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV). … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 22 Jun 2013 · 7,050 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePerformance Evaluation of Multicrypt Encryption MechanismRhymend Uthariaraj Vaidyanathan, Lydia Elizabeth Benjamin, John Prakash ArockiasamyMulticast communication allows a single message packet to be routed to multiple nodes simultaneously. Membership in a multicast group is dynamic, allowing nodes to enter and leave the multicast session. Besides the benefits, multicast communication presents the challenge of securing the communication. In order to preserve confidentiality the general encryption mechanism used for point to point communications are used. A … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 11 · 4 Sep 2012 · 7,168 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePerformance Evaluation of Blackhole Attack on AODV in VANETTaha SaadBlack hole is one of the ongoing network threats that impact the physical components of Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) when more layers deal with routing mechanism of vehicular ad hoc network. An algorithm for Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) protocol in VANET was developed in order to identify collaborative group of nodes that behave as black hole. The … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 15, Issue 2 · 6 Nov 2017 · 8,404 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Comprehensive Review and Performance Evaluation of Detection Techniques of Black Hole Attack in MANETNaveen Hemrajani, Sunil Kumar JangirMobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is an auto Configuring network. Due to its natural characteristics, a MANET is vulnerable to many security threats. Blackhole attack compromises the performance and the reliability of the network. Since nodes are allowed to move freely within the network, it becomes very important to protect the communication among mobile nodes for the sake of security. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 10 · 18 Oct 2017 · 7,732 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF WORMHOLE SECURITY APPROACHES FOR AD-HOC NETWORKSIsmail Hababeh, Issa Khalil, Abdallah Khreishah, Samir BatainehAd-hoc networks are talented but are exposed to the risk of wormhole attacks. However, a wormhole attack can be mounted easily and forms stern menaces in networks, particularly against various ad-hoc wireless networks. The Wormhole attack distorts the network topology and decrease the network systems performance. Therefore, identifying the possibility of wormhole attacks and recognizing techniques to defend them are … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 25 Nov 2013 · 6,618 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleTesting and Performance Evaluation of Tractor Mounted Hydraulic Elevator for Mango OrchardKishor P. Kolhe, Bhaskhar B. JadhavProblem statement: The harvesting and pruning of horticultural crops is quite difficult due to their tallness. There are small hand tools available for harvesting and pruning. But these tools of harvesting and pruning are restricted due tree height, unavailability of trained labours for climbing and cost of operation etc. The mechanized machines are available; these are heavy and costly and … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 26 Mar 2011 · 8,887 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Simulative Study on the Performance Evaluation for Simultaneous and Successive Mobility for Mobile IPv6Ibrahim Abdullah, Mohamed OthmanProblem statement: Mobile Internet Protocol (MIP) is the forms of the backbone for next generation wireless internet technology to provide uninterrupted network service while a node on the move. The original MIP use Home Agent to forward the traffic. Thus, it does not have problem with simultaneous mobility, i.e., the special case when both end nodes are mobile and move … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 30 Nov 2010 · 6,781 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePerformance Evaluation of Multi-Pulse Based Code Excited Linear Predictive Speech Coder with Bitrate Scalable Tool over Additive White Gaussian Noise and Rayleigh Fading ChannelsSuphattharachai ChomphanProblem statement: In the modern speech communication technology, the speech coding with bitrate scalability was needed. However, various types of noises in the communication channels cause damages in the transmitted information especially speech data. Tonal-language speech was also affected by this situation. Approach: Based on the high pitch delay resolution technique, the MPCELP speech coding was proposed over the environment … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 6 Nov 2010 · 7,085 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSkin Color Detection Model Using Neural Networks and its Performance EvaluationK. K. Bhoyar, O. G. KakdeProblem statement: Skin color detection is used as a preliminary step in numerous computer vision applications like face detection, nudity recognition, hand gesture detection and person identification. In this study we present a pixel based skin color classification approach, for detecting skin pixels and non skin pixels in color images, using a novel neural network symmetric classifier.
