Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSATISFACTION RECEIVED TOWARDS AGRICULTURAL INFORMATION FROM TELEVISION PROGRAMS AMONG FARMERSNor Sabila Ramli, Md. Salleh Hassan, Bahaman Abu Samah et al.Television is one of the top mass media to broadcast the information. It is heartening to know that mass media is playing its role in developing and strengthening the agriculture sector in Malaysia. Results from many international studies found that farmer received a high level of satisfaction from agriculture programs aired on television. However, can the similar results found among … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 2 · 20 Aug 2013 · 8,338 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFORMAL VERIFICATION OF SAFETY MESSAGE DISSEMINATION PROTOCOL FOR VANETSM. A. Berlin, Sheila AnandThis paper presents a formal verification of a safety message dissemination protocol used in vehicular ad-hoc networks. It is proposed to use Road Side Units to broadcast road hazard information to vehicles travelling on highways. Quick dissemination of road hazard information, like road blocks, slippery roads and other obstacles can help to prevent road accidents and improve passenger safety. Formal … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 9 Jul 2013 · 6,860 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnd to End Delay Improvement in Heterogeneous Multicast Network using Genetic OptimizationV. Chandrasekar, K. BaskaranProblem statement: Multicast is a concept of group communication which refers to transmitting the same data or messages from a source to multiple destinations in the network. This one-to-many group communication is a generalization of the concepts of one-to-one unicast and one-to-all broadcast. To deliver data from the sender to all receivers efficiently, routing plays an important role in multicast … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 9 · 13 Aug 2012 · 6,737 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSecure Authentication Technique for Data Aggregation in Wireless Sensor NetworksV. Bhoopathy, R. M.S. ParvathiProblem statement: In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), serious security threat is caused by node capture attacks where an adversary gains full control over a sensor node through direct physical access. Approach: This creates a high risk of data confidentiality. Results: We propose a secure authentication technique for data aggregation in WSN. During first round of data aggregation, the aggregator upon … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 24 Jan 2012 · 7,290 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMisbehaving Node Detection in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks using Multi Hop Acknowledgement SchemeUsha Sakthivel, S. RadhaProblem statement: For any node in a Mobile Ad hoc Network conservation of battery power and bandwidth are the priority. Hence, they try to reduce the overload they would otherwise incur when they forward packets. This selfish behavior of a node affects the throughput of the network. The nodes may also choose a back off value of shorter duration. These … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,714 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Analysis of IEEE 802.16d using Forward Error CorrectionVenkatesh Sekar, V. Palanisamy, K. BaskaranProblem statement: Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access is the broadband wireless technology for terrestrial broadcast services in Metropolitan Area Networks. This BWA technology is based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) technology and considers the radio frequency range up to 2-11 GHz and 10-66 GHz. The objective of this research work is the performance analysis of AWGN, SUI-1 and SUI-2 … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 9 Mar 2011 · 7,343 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractLink Stability and Node Energy Conscious Local Route-Repair Scheme for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksAnuradha Banerjee, Paramartha DuttaProblem statement: A mobile ad hoc network is a self-configuring network of mobile nodes connected by wireless links. As the nodes are free to move randomly, topology of the network may change rapidly and unpredictably. As a result, intermediate nodes in the communication routes tend to lose connection with each other during the communication process. In order to repair a … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 6,862 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign and Analysis of Virtual Bus Transport Using Synchronous Digital Hierarchy/Synchronous Optical NetworkingR. Hassan, J. Irvine, I. GloverThis study presented a new data link layer design for the virtual bus architecture. The virtual bus is a hierarchical access network offered a broadcast capability for data and signaling. The proposed of the study is to support Quality of Service (QoS) in network. During study, the most promising technology capable of delivering full service access at high data rates … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 6,967 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSpatial Variability of Soil Inorganic N in a Mature Oil Palm Plantation in Sabah, MalaysiaAbdul Rahim Anuar, Kah Joh Goh, Tee Bee Heoh, Osumanu Haruna AhmedThe identification and understanding of soil factors influencing yield variability of oil palm enable their efficient management. Soil samples were therefore collected from a fertilizer response trial on oil palm to study the spatial inorganic N distribution and some selected soil chemical properties as affected by long-term N fertilizer applications. The experiment was conducted on mature oil palms grown on … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2008 · 7,689 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractNikola TESLARelly Victoria Virgil Petrescu, Raffaella Aversa, Antonio Apicella et al.Nicolae Tesla, has remained and spent most of his life, making it hard to pronounce "Teslea"), is considered to be the inventor of the alternating current and uncovered cableless power transmission. It is attributed to the transmission of energy through monophase, biphasic, polyphase alternating currents and transmission of non-wired energy by electromagnetic waves (oscillations) in the industrial alternating current frequency … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 4 · 6 Nov 2017 · 13,204 accessesView PDFCite
