Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesEffect of Elicitors and Precursors on the Synthesis of Anthocyanin in Grape Vitis vinifera Cell CulturesNay Min Min Thaw Saw, Heidi Riedel, Onur Kütük et al.Problem statement: Nowadays, plant cell suspension cultures and immobilized cells are being utilized for the higher yield and quality of the products than extraction of whole plants. Anthocyanins are compounds found in plants that have powerful antioxidant properties. They also provide some of the coloring or pigment of plants, flowers and fruits. Anthocyanin from grape cell cultures can be used … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 31 Oct 2010 · 15,285 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesStrength Modeling of High-Strength Concrete with Hybrid Fibre ReinforcementA. Ravichandran, K. Suguna, P. N. RagunathThe low tensile strength and limited ductility, the unavoidable deficiency, of concrete can be overcome by the addition of fibres. High strength concrete (HSC) of 60 MPa containing hybrid fibres, combination of steel and polyolefin fibres, at different volume fraction of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0% were compared in terms of compressive, splitting tensile strength and flexural properties with HSC … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2009 · 7,545 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesMulti Directional Geographical Traceback with n Directions GeneralizationS. Karthik, V. P. Arunachalam, T. RavichandranProblem Statement: Denial of Service/Distributed Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks deny regular, internet services from being accessed by legitimate users, either by blocking the services completely, or by disturbing it completely, so as to cause customer baulking. Approach: Several traceback schemes were available to mitigate these attacks. Directional geographical traceback8 (DGT8), directional geographical trackback scheme, with 8 directions was one … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 7,013 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesTurbo-coding of Coherence Multiplexed Optical PPM CDMA System With Balanced DetectionK. Chitra, V.C. RavichandranThe effects of turbo-coding on the coherence multiplexed optical PPM CDMA systems are shown by evaluating bit error rate (BER) with respect to system parameters such as interleaver length (K), number of simultaneous users (N), code length (f), initial pulsewidth (t0) and normalized threshold (θ) by including the effects of thermal noise and shot noise. Turbo-codes increase the number of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2007 · 6,620 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesOn the Pulsewidth Analysis in the Presence of PMD and PDL in Optical Fibers Using Neural Network AlgorithmA. Sivasubramanian, V. C. RavichandranIn long haul networks, the random birefringence induced in the optical fiber leads to a considerable Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD). Polarization Dependent Loss (PDL) mainly occurs in optical components and depends on the state of polarization of optical signals. The presence of PMD and PDL causes pulsewidth narrowing and the pulsewidth reduction depends on states of polarization at which the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2007 · 7,055 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesDesigning of PID Controller for Discrete Time Linear System Using Balanced Approach Reduced Order ModelC.S. Ravichandran, S. Subha Rani, T. ManikandanModeling physical systems usually results in complex high-order dynamic models. It is often desirable to approximate these models by simpler models with reduced order. This study deals with the design of discrete time linear system using a balanced approach reduced order model. The reduced order model retains the desired state variable which contains a significant contribution. A PID controller is … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2007 · 7,132 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesPerformance Enhancement on Voice using VAD Algorithm and Cepstral AnalysisT. Ravichandran, K. D. SamyThe Transport of Voice Over Network has been existing for a long time. Due to the bad quality of speech and absence of useful service, it has not yet been widely spread. The benefits of reduced cost and bandwidth savings of carrying voice over data network is associated with Quality of Service (QoS). Many different techniques and protocols are used … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2006 · 6,587 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesPerformance Analysis of Call Admission Control in WCDMA Systems with Mobility based Interference Margin ReservationS. Malarkkan, V. C. RavichandranThis study presents performance of call admission control and resource reservation schemes based on the mobility of the users in WCDMA cellular systems. In order to guarantee the handoff dropping probability, the mobility of the user is predicted based on a realistic mobility model. The mobility prediction scheme used in this study is used to estimate the set of candidate … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2006 · 6,385 accessesView PDFCite
