Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMaximally Distant Codes Allocation Using Chemical Reaction Optimization and Ant Colony Optimization AlgorithmsTaisir Eldos, Waleed Nazih, Aws KananError correcting codes, also known as error controlling codes, are set of codes with redundancy that allows detecting errors. This is quite useful in transmitting data over a noisy channel or when retrieving data from a storage with possible physical defects. The idea is to use a set of code words that are maximally distant from each other, hence reducing … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 8 · 5 Nov 2015 · 7,004 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleBit Error Rate Analysis of RS (7, 3) Coded Frequency Shift Keying Using SimulinkT.A. Shanmugasundaram, V. VijayabaskarBit Error Rate is an essential parameter to quantize the effectiveness of transceiver circuits used in low power, low duty cycle sensor nodes. BER can figure out their performance in terms of number of retransmissions, which keeps the node to consume its battery power undesirably rather than conserving it. Forward Error Correction schemes ensure the transceiver circuit to effectively perform … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 2 · 25 Mar 2015 · 7,051 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Comparative Study of Construction Techniques of t-Error Correction/All Unidirectional Error Detection CodesThabit Sultan Mohammed, Laith A. Al-JobouriThe theory and application of (t-EC-AUED) codes was presented and among the methods proposed in literature, the most efficient was chosen and a software was written for encoding and decoding of the codes. Comparison and evaluation of the construction techniques were carried out. A t-Error Correction (EC)/All Unidirectional Error Detection (AUED) codes are constructed by appending a single check symbol … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 2 · 28 Jan 2015 · 6,577 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMulti-Pulse Based Code Excited Linear Predictive Speech Coder with Fine Granularity Scalability for Tonal LanguageSuphattharachai ChomphanProblem statement: The flexible bit-rate speech coder plays an important role in the modern speech communication. The MP-CELP speech coder which is a candidate of the MPEG4 natural speech coder supports a flexible and wide bit-rate range. However, a fine scalability had not been included. To support finer scalability of the coding rate, it had been studied in this study. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 11 · 24 Nov 2010 · 7,194 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOn Hyperplanes of the Geometry D4,2 and their Related CodesAbdelsalam Abou ZaydaProblem statement: The point-line geometry of type D4,2 was introduced and characterized by many authors such as Shult and Buekenhout and in several researches many of geometries were considered to construct good families of codes and this forced us to present very important substructures in such geometry that are hyperplanes. Approach: We used the isomorphic classical polar space Ω+(8, F) … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2009 · 7,107 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleExploring Mesh Generation and Quality Enhancement with Open Source CodesLeandro Alves Neves, José Márcio Machado, Julio Cesar Momente et al.The finite element method is a very reliable and precise technique for solving partial differential equations in three-dimensional domains, with relevant applications in several areas. However, 3D simulations by FEM require computer programs for solid modeling and automatic mesh generation and there are few examples of open source codes available and dedicated to these tasks. Unfortunately, these open source codes … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 7 · 19 Jul 2018 · 8,365 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleBlind Pre-Coder for MIMO System Capacity EnhancementEman Al Khader, Shereen S. IsmailIn this study, linear scheme at the transmitter is proposed as a blind pre-coder to improve the performance and enhance the channel capacity of MIMO systems with certain configurations for transmitting and receiving antennas over fading channels. This is accomplished by generating a specific linear pre-coder matrix without having any prior information about the Channel State (CS) matrix. Simulation results … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 1 · 11 Jan 2017 · 7,694 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance Analysis of Joint Degree Distribution (JDD) in Luby Transform CodesI. Joe Louis Paul, S. Radha, J. RajaLuby Transform (LT) codes, the first realization of rateless codes are widely used in wireless communication mainly for its adaptability to varying channel conditions and its capacity approaching performance. In spite of the above advantages and its simplicity in implementation, LT codes suffer from a bottle neck of premature termination due to the poor design of degree distribution. In this … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 1 · 13 Aug 2014 · 7,262 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleTHROUGHPUT AND BIT ERROR RATE ANALYSIS OF LUBY TRANSFORM CODES WITH LOW AND MEDIUM NODAL DEGREE DISTRIBUTIONSI. Joe Louis Paul, S. Radha, J. RajaThis study presents two degree distributions namely low and medium nodal degree distributions aiming to build a low overhead Luby Transform (LT) codes. The motivation is to design a fast encoder/decoder especially for real-time multimedia streaming and multicasting applications using LT codes. The key idea of this study is to restrict the average degree of the transmitted encoded symbols as … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 9 · 12 Aug 2014 · 6,617 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleHardware Modeling of Binary Coded Decimal Adder in Field Programmable Gate ArrayMuhammad Ibn Ibrahimy, Rezwanul Ahsan, Iksannurazmi Bambang SoerosoThere are insignificant relevant research works available which are involved with the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) based hardware implementation of Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) adder. This is because, the FPGA based hardware realization is quiet new and still developing field of research. The article illustrates the design and hardware modeling of a BCD adder.
