Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Empirical Study of Efficiency Evaluation with Dynamic Strategy Trajectory Based on DEA Algorithm and BCG Model: A Case Study of Securities IndustryCheng-Shian Lin, Chun-Yueh LinThe U.S. Subprime Mortgage Crisis in 2008 led many financial institutions, including those in the securities industry, to the verge of bankruptcy. As the securities industry has a pivotal position in financial markets, this study aims to use Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to discuss the efficiency of the securities industry after the Financial Tsunami. In addition, this paper integrates the … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 1 · 4 Apr 2018 · 8,166 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDynamic Simulation and Optimum Operation Strategy of a Trigeneration System Serving a HospitalFrancesco Calise, Massimo Dentice d'Accadia, Luigi Libertini et al.This paper presents a numerical analysis of a trigeneration system in a hospital, aiming at determining the cost-optimal operating strategy as a function of the energy demands to be matched. The system includes: A natural gas fired reciprocating engine, heat exchangers for waste-heat recovery, a single-stage LiBr-H2O Absorption Chiller (ACH), a cooling tower, pumps, a backup boiler, a backup vapour-compression … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 29 Aug 2016 · 8,177 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleENHANCED LOAD BALANCING STRATEGY IN HETEROGENEOUS PEER-TO-PEER NETWORKSP. Murugesan, A. ShanmugamExisting P2P systems provide a Duty Cycle Data Appropriation (DCDA) Technique allocate objects based on ranking among “peer nodes” in a method that result in various nodes containing times as numerous objects as the standard node. Further disparity might effect owing to non-uniform allocation of objects in the identifier break and a high amount of heterogeneity in objective loads and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 6,429 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleExplicit Allocation Strategy with Deadline and Budget Constraint Algorithm in Bag of Tasks GridM. Suresh Kumar, T. PurusothamanProblem statement: This study is for effective scheduling of grid jobs based on economy for space shared resources in Bag of tasks grid. Grid Computing aims in combining the power of heterogeneous, geographically distributed, multi-domain computational resources to provide high performance or high throughput. Approach: Space shared resources are parallel supercomputers and clusters of workstations that provides a great amount … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 7 Jun 2012 · 6,229 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleTree Based Test Case Generation and Cost Calculation Strategy for Uniform Parametric Pairwise TestingMohammad F.J. Klaib, Sangeetha Muthuraman, Noraziah Ahmad, Roslina SidekProblem statement: Although it is very important to test any system extensively it is usually too expensive to do so owing to the cost and the resources that are involved in it. Software testing is a very important phase of software development to ensure that the developed system is reliable. Some systematic approach for testing is essential to test any … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 5 · 31 May 2010 · 7,342 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleExperimenting the Simulation Strategy of Membrane Computing with Gillespie Algorithm by Using Two Biological Case StudiesRavie Chandren Muniyandi, Abdullah Mohd ZinProblem statement: The evolution rules of membrane computing have been applied in a nondeterministic and maximally parallel way. In order to capture these characteristics, Gillespie’s algorithm has been used as simulation strategy of membrane computing in simulating biological systems. Approach: This study was carried to discuss the simulation strategy of membrane computing with Gillespie algorithm in comparison to the simulation … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 5 · 31 May 2010 · 6,941 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleNew Efficient Strategy to Accelerate k-Means Clustering AlgorithmMoh’d Belal Al- Zoubi, Amjad Hudaib, Ammar Huneiti, Bassam HammoOne of the most popular clustering techniques is the k-means clustering algorithm. However, the utilization of the k-means is severely limited by its high computational complexity. In this study, we propose a new strategy to accelerate the k-means clustering algorithm through the Partial Distance (PD) logic. The proposed strategy avoids many unnecessary distance calculations by applying efficient PD strategy. Experiments … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2008 · 7,437 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleNew Strategy to Optimize Lean Supply Chain Design by Meta-HeuristicThi Hong Dang Nguyen, Thien My DaoThis paper aims at presenting one novel quantitative strategy of optimizing the design of Lean supply chain using Meta-Heuristics. While classifying Lean Manufacturing tools in two categories, namely Functional and Tier Lean tools, we propose a new framework to design the Lean supply chain by implementing the former into a 5-echelon Fat supply chain. As the following step, we investigate … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 1 · 9 Mar 2017 · 7,948 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA General Strategy to Enhance Upconversion luminescence in Rare-Earth-Ion-Doped Oxide NanocrystalsGuanying Chen, Lei XuWe report a general strategy to enhance upconversion luminescence from rare-earth-doped oxide nanocrystals through tailoring the local crystal filed around rare earth ions. We show that upconversion luminescence from oxide nanocrystals of various host lattice (Y2O3, Gd2O3 and ZnO) and of diverse rare-earth-ions (such as Er3+, Yb3+/Er3+, Yb3+/Ho3+ and Yb3+/Tm3+) was enhanced by orders of magnitude through an introduction of … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 18 Feb 2016 · 7,735 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleUse of Cooled Bull Semen as a Strategy to Increase the Prenancy Rate in Fixed-Time Artificial Insemination Prgrams-Case ReportAndre Maciel Crespilho, Frederico Ozanam Papa, Marcos de Paula Santos, Manoel Francisco de Sa FilhoSemen cryopreservation is still considered suboptimal due to lower fertility when compared to fresh semen. The reasons for the loss of fertility are various and related to irreversible damage caused to the cells during the freeze-thaw process. An alternative to conventional cryopreservation represents the use of chilled bull semen, preventing the damage associated with freezing, thereby guaranteeing greater sperm viability. … …American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 2 Feb 2013 · 8,681 accessesView PDFCite
