Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTEXT SIGNAGE RECOGNITION IN ANDROID MOBILE DEVICESOi-Mean Foong, Suziah Sulaiman, Kiing Kiu LingThis study presents a Text Signage Recognition (TSR) model in Android mobile devices for Visually Impaired People (VIP). Independence navigation is always a challenge to VIP for indoor navigation in unfamiliar surroundings. Assistive Technology such as Android smart devices has great potential to assist VIPs in indoor navigation using built-in speech synthesizer. In contrast to previous TSR research which was … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 25 Nov 2013 · 6,700 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIntelligent Semantic Universal Search in Mobile PlatformJinhyung Kim, Myunggwon Hwang, Hanmin Jung, Doheon JungProblem statement: As the performance of mobile devices is getting higher, a large quantity of information is stored and managed in mobile devices. Therefore, the precise and intelligent universal search becomes the most important issue in the smart mobile platform. Conclusion/Reommendation: In this study, we suggest the semantic universal search in smart mobile platform facilitated by the ontology; ontology modeling, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 9 Mar 2012 · 6,753 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractClient Device Based Content Adaptation Using Rule BaseVelammal, Anandha KumarProblem statement: Content adaptation have been playing an important role in mobile devices, wherein the content display differs from desktop computers in many aspects, such as display screens, processing power, network connection bandwidth. In order to display web contents appropriately on mobile devices and on other types of devices such as hand computers, PDAs, Smart phones, it is important to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 22 Oct 2011 · 6,786 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Disruption-Tolerant Model for Building a Mobile Application Using Web ServiceMaryati Mohd. Yusof, Mansor Omar, Zarina ShukurProblem statement: The emerging technology in broadband telecommunication and mobile devices has increased the use of mobile applications. However, the use of mobile application is affected with low bandwidth or disrupted broadband telecommunication due to building blockage or out of coverage area. Approach: We proposed a Disruption-Tolerant Mobile Application Model (DTMA) that enables remote data access and overcomes constraint due … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 1 Dec 2010 · 7,219 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractBluetooth Wireless Monitoring, Managing and Control for Inter Vehicle in Vehicular Ad-Hoc NetworksHelia Mamdouhi, Sabira Khatun, Javad ZarrinProblem statement: The car users expect more and more accessories available in their cars, but the accessories available needed manage by driver manually and not properly manage by smart system. All these accessories are able to control by user manually using different and standalone controllers. Besides, the controller itself uses RF technology which is not existed in mobile devices. Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOn Recipe Based Service Composition in Ubiquitous Smart SpacesJunaid A. Chowdary, Seung-Kyu Park, Suk-Kyo HongWe present a recipe based service composition scheme in smart spaces. We discuss real time problems of highly synchronized and user customizable processes with the help of an example. On-the-fly Quality of Service (QoS) shows up as a major issue in such environment. Furthermore the QoS of a dynamically composed service depends upon the aggregate QoS of its developing components. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2006 · 6,760 accessesView PDFCite
