Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRobustness Results for Hierarchical Diff-EDF Scheduling upon Heterogeneous Real-Time Packet NetworksMoutaz Saleh, Zulaiha Ali OthmanPacket networks are currently enabling the integration of traffic with a wide range of characteristics that extend from video traffic with stringent QoS requirements to the best-effort traffic requiring no guarantees. QoS guarantees can be provided in conventional packet networks by the use of proper packet scheduling algorithms. As a computer revolution, many scheduling algorithms have been proposed to provide … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 5 · 31 May 2007 · 6,601 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEpsilon-Insensitive Primal Loss With Support Vector Machine for Robust Cotton Leaf Disease ClassificationPavana Kumar Eramachetty Dhanajayalu, Malathi Sivasamy, Chitveli Siva Balaji YadavCotton diseases significantly reduce both yield and quality of crops, making early and accurate identification of the disease crucial for effective prevention and control. However, achieving a balance between lightweight models and precise classification of cotton diseases remains challenging. This difficulty arises primarily from the dispersed nature of disease symptoms and interference from noisy backgrounds, which complicate the detection process. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 6 · 5 Aug 2026 · 755 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRobust Adversarial Attack Detection via Generative Adversarial Network With Residual Multi-Layer Aggregation Based Contrastive Loss FunctionAmudha Gopalakrishnan, Nalini JosephAdversarial attacks in medical imaging refer to subtle modifications to images that mislead diagnostic systems, resulting in inaccurate diagnoses and assessments. These attacks exploit vulnerabilities in image processing, leading to misclassification or altered visual features that often go unnoticed. This raises serious concerns about the security and reliability of medical diagnosis, directly impacting clinical decision-making and patient safety. This research … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 1 · 10 Feb 2026 · 1,742 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleNetwork Topological Property of English Dialects Similarity: A Robust Filter ApproachMaman Abdurachman Djauhari, Gan Siew LeeWe show that the common approach to use of Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) to filter the information contained in a complex system of English dialects similarity is not robust. Later on we propose a robust filter based on the forest of all possible MSTs. To illustrate the advantages of this filter, Morgan’s data on English dialects similarity is analyzed and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 7 · 17 Jun 2013 · 6,588 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRobust Decentralized Control of Unified Power Flow ControllerHossein Shayeghi, Ali AbdolalipourA new approach based on structured singular value is proposed for the robust decentralized Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) design. To achieve decentralization, using the schauder fixed point theorem the synthesis and analysis of Multi-Input Multi-output (MIMO) control system is translated into set of equivalent Multi-Input Single-Output (MISO) control system. Power systems such as the other industrial plants contain different … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2009 · 7,151 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Simple Robust Control Chart Based on MADMoustafa Omar Ahmed Abu-ShawieshControl charts are one of the most powerful tools used to detect aberrant behavior in industrial processes. The Shewhart S-control chart is one of the most widely used statistical process control techniques developed to control the process variability based on the fundamental assumption that the underlying distribution of the quality characteristic is normal. When the underlying normality assumption is not … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2008 · 14,254 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRobust Outlier Detection in Linear RegressionNethal K. Jajo, Xizhi WuNew methodology of robust outlier detection based on Robustly Studentized Robust Residuals (RSRR) examination is well established in linear regression analysis. Two new robust location estimators of linear regression parameters are developed in simple and multiple cases. Based on these robust estimators we obtain RSRR. We used RSRR to derive a new measure of distance to be used in outlier … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2004 · 6,933 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA NOVEL ROBUST AND EFFICIENT TOOL FOR DETECTING HETEROSCEDASTICITYWei Xiong, Maozai TianOne of the greatest values of Quantile Regression (QR) is that it provides a good procedure in the sense that QR could be much more efficient and sometimes arbitrarily more efficient in recovering the mean function than the Least Squares (LS) even when without moment conditions. However, heteroscedasticity definitely causes conditional variances of parametric or nonparametric estimates of mean functions … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 21 Mar 2014 · 6,657 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRobust Electronic Differential Controller for an Electric VehicleA. Ravi, Sankaran PalaniThis study presents an efficient and robust control scheme of electronic differential system for an electric vehicle. The proposed system consists of two Brushless DC motors (BLDC) that ensure the drive of the two back driving wheels of an electric vehicle. Electronic Differential Controller (EDC) ensures the maximum torque and it can control both the driving wheel independently to turn … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 10 Sep 2013 · 7,793 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Robust Recognition System for Pecan Weevil using Artificial Neural NetworksSaleh Mufleh Al-SaqerProblem statement: Pecan Weevil is a widely found pest among pecan trees and these pests are known to cause significant damage to the pecan trees resulting in enormous annual losses to pecan growers. Traditional identification techniques for pecan weevil include traps with pheromones to detect the infestation of these pests. However, these traditional methods require expensive labor hours to set-up … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 14 Jul 2012 · 6,831 accessesView PDFCite
