Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractRandom Dummy Packet Distribution Approach for Detection of Routing Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkT. Sakthivel, R. M. Chandrasekaran, S. Vijay BhanuA Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) works on the assumption that mobile nodes are cooperative. On the other hand, in practical, it may not be possible due to selfish, malicious and misbehaving nodes present in the network. These nodes are capable of interrupting the communication process and there is a potential for serious performance degradation. To improve the performance of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 6 Nov 2012 · 6,977 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractQuality of Service Aware Reverse Pathad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector ProtocolK. G. Santhiya, N. ArumugamMobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is aninfra structureless network that does not require any built-in infra structure and central control. Due to very fast mobility of nodes, there will be drastic changes in the network topology. So an adaptive routing protocol is needed for effective and reliable routing in MANET. Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol is the efficient and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 20 Sep 2012 · 7,064 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractVideo Streaming in Peer-to-Peer Networks Using Network Coding Renders Efficient Video Cassette Recorder OperationsR. Arockia Xavier Annie, K. V. Pradeepthi, P. YogeshProblem statement: Major technological development in recent years has led to the usage of shared streaming solutions by Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Video-on-Demand (VoD) systems in the Internet. Video streaming in P2P network systems has ample amount of loss of video packets due to network disabilities such as congestion, intrusion, connectivity problems, excessive network collisions etc. Adding onto the video streaming problems, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 24 Aug 2012 · 6,744 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCongestion Free Routing in Adhoc NetworksT. Senthil Kumaran, V. SankaranarayananProblem statement: A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is a temporary network; the mobile devices in an ad-hoc network are communicating through wireless links without any pre-existing infrastructure. The one major problem of this network is network congestion, it may take place at any intermediate nodes when data packets are traveling from source to destination. The major problems of congestion or … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 4 Apr 2012 · 7,240 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStudy of Performance Analysis in Wired and Wireless NetworkV.B. Kirubanand, S. PalaniammalProblem statement: The main intent of this study is to derive a high performance clientserver network using hub, switch, Bluetooth, WI-Fi and Wimax using the steadfast algorithms. Approach: This study mainly focuses on M/M (a,b)/1 markovian model with adaboost algorithm and user selection algorithms to find performance on wired and wireless technologies in terms of service rate, arrival rate, Expected … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 19 Jul 2011 · 7,477 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Secure Routing Protocol to Eliminate Integrity, Authentication and Sleep Deprivation Based Threats in Mobile Ad hoc NetworkEdna Elizabeth Nallathambi, Radha Sankararajan, Vaithiyanathan Sundaram, Gracelin SheebaProblem statement: Network security in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a major issue. Some of the attacks such as modification, impersonation, Time To Live (TTL) and sleep deprivation are due to misbehaviour of malicious nodes, which disrupts the transmission. Some of the existing security protocols such as ARAN, SAODV and SEAD are basically used to detect and eliminate one … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,822 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMisbehaving Node Detection in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks using Multi Hop Acknowledgement SchemeUsha Sakthivel, S. RadhaProblem statement: For any node in a Mobile Ad hoc Network conservation of battery power and bandwidth are the priority. Hence, they try to reduce the overload they would otherwise incur when they forward packets. This selfish behavior of a node affects the throughput of the network. The nodes may also choose a back off value of shorter duration. These … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,714 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Effective Queue Management Scheme for Data CommunicationSheela Thavasi, Nityanandam NatarajanProblem statement: The growth in the needs of Internet applications that transmit massive amount of data has led to the emergence of Effective Queue Management. Approach: Queues were used to smooth spikes in incoming packet rates and to allow the router sufficient time for packet processing. When the waiting time is less a better queue management is ensured thereby resulting … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 7 Mar 2011 · 7,762 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Fast Handover Scheme for Multicasting in IPv6 based Mobile Ad hoc NetworksH. Parveen Sultana, M. Pounambal, Dr. P. Venkata KrishnaProblem statement: In the previous researches, steps were taken to resolve the problems of multicasting, after several discussions. Actually these issues were raised, while multicasting packets from Internet Protocol (IP) to Mobile Nodes (MN). On the other hand, there is very little concern about the problem of packet loss reduction. Sometimes the occurrence of multicast service chaos is ignored during … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 16 Dec 2010 · 7,248 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Analysis of Power Aware Congestion Control Multipath Multicast Protocol for Mobile Ad hoc NetworkDuraiswamy Karuppaswamy, Vijayaragavan ShanmugamProblem statement: In MANETs, wireless link transmission errors, mobility and congestion are major causes for packet loss. Mobility may cause packet loss in different ways. Whereas congestion in a network occurs, whenever the demands exceed the maximum capacity of a communication link especially when multiple hosts try to access a shared media simultaneously. Approach: In this study, we proposed a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 2 Nov 2010 · 7,044 accessesView PDFCite
