Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDesign and Implementation of an Efficient Software Communications Architecture Core Framework for a Digital Signal Processors PlatformWael A. Murtada, Mohamed M. Zahra, Magdi Fikri et al.Problem statement: The Software Communications Architecture (SCA) was developed to improve software reuse and interoperability in Software Defined Radios (SDR). There had been performance concerns since its conception. Arguably, the majority of the problems and inefficiencies associated with the SCA can be attributed to the assumption of modular distributed platforms relying on General Purpose Processors (GPPs) to perform all signal … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 29 Nov 2011 · 7,495 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleImplementation and Methods of Project Learning in Quantity Surveying Firms: Barriers, Enablers and Success FactorsHamzah Abdul-Rahman, Ali Mohammed Alashwal, Zatil Hidayah JamaludinProblem statement: Learning from project is vital for organizations to achieve competition and to survive in a dynamic environment. However, learning is not an easy task because there is no specific way for learning from projects. Besides, the practice of project learning and transfer knowledge to the firm’s level is still vague, specifically in the construction milieu. Approach: A questionnaire … …American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, Vol. 3, Issue 3 · 15 Sep 2011 · 7,573 accessesView PDFCite

However, the main bottleneck that affects the communication capability is the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), which is the core of most modulators. Approach: This study presented on-chip implementation of pipeline digit-slicing multiplier-less butterfly for FFT structure. The approach taken; in order to reduce computation complexity … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 30 Nov 2010 · 8,010 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleVLSI Implementation of Novel Class of High Speed Pipelined Digital Signal Processing Filter for Wireless ReceiversRozita Teymourzadeh, Yazan Samir Algnabi, Masuri Othman et al.Problem statement: The need for high performance transceiver with high Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) has driven the communication system to utilize latest technique identified as over sampling systems. It was the most economical modulator and decimation in communication system. It has been proven to increase the SNR and is used in many high performance systems such as in the … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 5 Nov 2010 · 7,815 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleImplementation of 5S Practices in the Manufacturing Companies: A Case StudyMohd Nizam Ab Rahman, Nor Kamaliana Khamis, Rosmaizura Mohd Zain et al.Problem statement: 5S practice is one of the techniques to improve quality environment, health and safety at the workplace. Evaluation of 5S practice can be done through implementation of 5S audit at each division in the company. Approach: Through 5S audit, it enables each company to identify the potential level of quality improvement and at the same time can analyze … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 21,441 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDesign and Field Programmable Gate Array Implementation of Basic Building Blocks for Power-Efficient Baugh-Wooley MultipliersMuhammad H. Rais, Bandar M. Al-Harthi, Saad I. Al-Askar, Fahad K. Al-HusseinProblem statement: As growing demands on portable computing and communication systems, the power-efficient multipliers play an important role. In these multipliers basic multiplication follows the Baugh-Wooley algorithms and can easily be implemented using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) devices because the development cost for Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) are high. These algorithms should be verified and optimized before implementation. … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2010 · 8,123 accessesView PDFCite
