Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSolving Traffic Routing System using VANet Strategy Combined with a Distributed Swarm Intelligence OptimizationElgarej Mouhcine, Khalifa Mansouri, Youssfi MohamedProposing an efficient strategy to reduce traffic congestion is an essential step towards improvement as we take into consideration the unpredictable and dynamic infrastructure of the road network. With the advances in computing technologies and communications protocols, we can retrieve any type of data and receive in real-time the state of traffic congestion at each road using Electronic Toll Collection … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 11 · 12 Nov 2018 · 7,592 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDocument Clustering Based on Firefly AlgorithmAthraa Jasim Mohammed, Yuhanis Yusof, Husniza HusniDocument clustering is widely used in Information Retrieval however, existing clustering techniques suffer from local optima problem in determining the k number of clusters. Various efforts have been put to address such drawback and this includes the utilization of swarm-based algorithms such as particle swarm optimization and Ant Colony Optimization. This study explores the adaptation of another swarm algorithm which … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 26 Mar 2015 · 7,510 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA SURVEY: PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION-BASED ALGORITHMS FOR GRID COMPUTING SCHEDULING SYSTEMSFaruku Umar Ambursa, Rohaya LatipBio-inspired heuristics have been promising in solving complex scheduling optimization problems. Several researches have been conducted to tackle the problems of task scheduling for the heterogeneous and dynamic grid systems using different bio-inspired mechanisms such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). PSO has been proven to have a relatively more promissing performance in dealing … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 25 Nov 2013 · 6,656 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFEATURE DIMENSION REDUCTION FOR EFFICIENT MEDICAL IMAGE RETRIEVAL SYSTEM USING UNIFIED FRAMEWORKYogapriya Jaganathan, Ila VennilaFeature dimensionality reduction problem is a major issue in Content Based Medical Image Retrieval (CBMIR) for the effective management of medical images with the support of visual features for the purpose of diagnosis and educational research field. The proposed CBMIR is used a unified approach based on extraction of visual features, optimized feature selection, classification of optimized features and similarity … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 11 · 24 Sep 2013 · 6,982 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractRouting Based Data Security in Mobile Ad Hoc Network Using Group Key ManagementE. Mohanraj, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is a self-organizing system of mobile devices followed an infrastructure less framework associated by wireless links. In MANET, there is a possibility of packet data to get lost or hacked by an attacker. So, to improve a secure communication over MANET from attackers, several techniques have been developed. The previous work developed to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 29 Aug 2012 · 6,697 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnhanced Clustering Techniques for Hyper Network Planning using Minimum Spanning Trees and Ant-Colony AlgorithmLamiaa Fattouh IbrahimProblem statement: The process of network planning is divided into two sub steps. The first step is determining the location of the Multi Service Access Node (MSAN). The second step is the construction of subscriber network lines from MSAN to subscribers to satisfy optimization criteria and design constraints. Due to the complexity of this process artificial intelligence and clustering techniques … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 9 Mar 2011 · 6,813 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMemory Convergence and Optimization with Fuzzy PSO and ACSSubhash C. Pandey, Dr. P. MisraAssociative neural memories are models of biological phenomena that allow for the storage of pattern associations and the retrieval of the desired output pattern upon presentation of a possibly noisy or incomplete version of an input pattern. In this study, we introduce fuzzy swarm particle optimization technique for convergence of associative neural memories based on fuzzy set theory. A Fuzzy … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 7,169 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Swarm-based Distance Vector Routing to Support Multiple Quality of Service (QoS) Metrics in Mobile Adhoc NetworksR. Asokan, A. M. Natarajan, A. NivethaQuality of Service support for Mobile Ad-hoc Networks is a challenging task due to dynamic topology and limited resource. The main purpose of QoS routing is to find a feasible path that has sufficient resources to satisfy the constraints. A fundamental problem in QoS routing is to find a path between a source and destination that satisfies two or more … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2007 · 6,665 accessesView PDFCite
