Research NotesOpen accessIn the abstractA Comprehensive Study on Mobility Issues in AODVThiripurasundari SivakrishnakumarAd-hoc network plays an important role in wireless networks as they are self-configured and can be operated independently with limited resources. The critical issue is to assess the performance of routing protocols in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) due to the frequent changes in network topology. Here the Ad-hoc On demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol, which is quite susceptible … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 10 · 2 Jan 2016 · 6,722 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Q-Routing Protocol Using Self-Aware Approach for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksAmal Alharbi, Abdullah Al-Dhalaan, Miznah Al-RodhaanMobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) are self-organized networks that are characterized by dynamic topologies in time and space. This creates an instable environment, where classical routing approaches cannot achieve high performance. Thus, adaptive routing is necessary to handle the challenges in MANETs. Furthermore, it is necessary for nodes to be self-aware i.e., able to discover neighbors, links and paths when … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 12 · 7 Dec 2015 · 6,463 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFlooding Attack Aware Secure AODVS. Madhavi, K. DuraiswamyProviding security in a Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a challenging task due to its inherent nature. Flooding is a type of Denial of Service (DoS) attack in MANET. Intentional flooding may lead to disturbances in the networking operation. This kind of attack consumes battery power, storage space and bandwidth. Flooding the excessive number of packets may degrade the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 27 Feb 2013 · 7,535 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordPerformance Analysis of a Highly Available Home Agent in Mobile NetworksAbdelgadir Tageldin Abdelgadir, Mohiuddin Ahmed, Al-Sakib Khan Pathan et al.Problem statement: Network Mobility as a service is provided by the NEMO protocol in IPv6 environments. NEMO is an extension to MIPv6 and thus inherits the same reliability problems of MIPv6. MIPv6 is not reliable because the Home Agent (HA) is a single point of failure. In order to provide real-time services for MIPv6 networks, reliability should be considered as … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 27 Oct 2011 · 7,159 accessesView PDF Cite
