Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Robust Modification of the Goldfeld-Quandt Test for the Detection of Heteroscedasticity in the Presence of OutliersMd. Sohel Rana, Habshah Midi, A.H.M. Rahmatullah ImonProblem statement: The problem of heteroscedasticity occurs in regression analysis for many practical reasons. It is now evident that the heteroscedastic problem affects both the estimation and test procedure of regression analysis, so it is really important to be able to detect this problem for possible remedy. The existence of a few extreme or unusual observations that we often call … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,936 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Robust Video Watermarking AlgorithmTahani Al-Khatib, Ali Al-Haj, Lama Rajab, Hiba MohammedProblem statement: Video watermarking is well known as the process of embedding copyright information in video bit streams. It had been proposed in recent years to solve the problem of illegal manipulation and distribution of digital video. Approach: In this study, an effective, robust and imperceptible video watermarking algorithm was proposed. This algorithm was based on a cascade of two … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 6,870 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDesign of Robust Decentralized Control for UPFC Controller Based on Structured Singular ValueSeyed Abbas Taher, Shahabeddin Akbari, Ali Abdolalipour, Reza HemattiNew approach based on structured singular value (µ-synthesis) was proposed for the robust decentralized unified power flow controller (UPFC) design. To achieve decentralization, using the Schauder fixed point theorem the synthesis and analysis of multi-input multi-output (MIMO) control system translated into a set of equivalent multi-input single-output (MISO) control system. Power systems similar to other industrial plants contain different kinds … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2008 · 7,032 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRobust Flight Control Design for a Turn Coordination System with Parameter UncertaintiesAri Legowo, Hiroshi OkuboThis paper presents a method of robust control system design for aircraft flight control systems with the existence of uncertainty parameters such as stability and control derivatives resulted by parameter identification process using real flight test data. A nonlinear model of aircraft turn coordination system is considered where the problem is to find the optimal controller by using the H∞ … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2007 · 7,498 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRobust and Blind Watermarking of Relational Database SystemsA. Al-Haj, A. OdehProblem statement: Digital multimedia watermarking technology was suggested in the last decade to embed copyright information in digital objects such images, audio and video. However, the increasing use of relational database systems in many real-life applications created an ever increasing need for watermarking database systems. As a result, watermarking relational database systems is now merging as a research area that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,504 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Optimization Approach for Selecting Blocks of Embedding Process in Robust Watermarking SystemAbabneh M.F. Mohammad, Naseem M. AsadThis study, discusses several kinds of attacks that may meet the watermarked image such as JPEG compression, Gaussian noise and median filter. The study introduces an approach capable of selecting the optimal blocks in cover image to be used in embedding process. Also, in this study, we propose a technique in robust digital watermarking system looking for finding a relation … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2006 · 7,171 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDensity Power Downweighting and Robust Inference: Some New StrategiesSaptarshi Roy, Kaustav Chakraborty, Somnath Bhadra, Ayanendranath BasuPreserving the robustness of the procedure has, at the present time, become almost a default requirement for statistical data analysis. Since efficiency at the model and robustness under misspecification of the model are often in conflict, it is important to choose such inference procedures which provide the best compromise between these two concepts. Some minimum Bregman divergence estimators and related … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 15, Issue 1 · 8 Dec 2019 · 7,709 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRobust of Doppler Centroid for Mapping Sea Surface Current by Using Radar Satellite DataMazlan Hashim, Maged MarghanyProblem statement: Sea surface current retrieving from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is required standard methods due to the complexity of sea surface ocean imaging in SAR data. In this context, various analytical models have been developed which describe overall effects of sea surface roughness on the Doppler signal mechanisms. Nevertheless, such models are limited in the complexity of the sea … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,415 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRobust Decentralized Load Frequency Control Using Multi Variable QFT Method in Deregulated Power SystemsSeyed Abbas Taher, Reza HemattiThe Load Frequency Control problem has been a major subject in electrical power system design/operation and is becoming more significant recently with increasing size, changing structure and complexity in interconnected power systems. In practice LFC systems use simple proportional-integral controllers. However, since the PI control parameters are usually tuned based on classical or trial-and-error approaches, they are incapable of obtaining … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2008 · 7,088 accessesView PDFCite
