Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEdge Detection in Gray Level Images based on the Shannon EntropyBaljit Singh, Amar P. SinghMost of the classical mathematical methods for edge detection based on the derivative of the pixels of the original image are Gradient operators, Laplacian and Laplacian of Gaussian operators. Gradient based edge detection methods, such as Roberts, Sobel and Prewitts, have used two 2-D linear filters to process vertical edges and horizontal edges separately to approximate first-order derivative of pixel … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2008 · 7,882 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Comparison of Different Image Sizes for Recognizing Unconstrained Handwritten Tamil Characters using SVMN. Shanthi, K. DuraiswamyThis study describes a system for recognizing offline handwritten Tamil characters using Support Vector Machine (SVM). Data samples are collected from different writers on A4 sized documents. They are scanned using a flat bed scanner at a resolution of 300 dpi and stored as grey scale images. Various preprocessing operations are performed on the digitized image to enhance the quality … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2007 · 7,008 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordNew Approaches to Ancient Crypto-Steganography MethodsA. Joseph Raphael, V. SundaramProblem statement: The requirement and ability to hide information from others has existed in the world for centuries. Cryptography and steganography are the most commonly used techniques for information sharing. The science of securing a data by encryption is cryptography whereas the method of hiding secret messages in other media is Steganography, so that the secret’s very existence is concealed. … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 4 Nov 2011 · 8,110 accessesView PDF Cite
