Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSolving Square Jigsaw Puzzles Using Dynamic Programming and the Hungarian ProcedureNaif AlajlanProblem statement: To design, implement, and test an algorithm for solving the square jigsaw puzzle problem, which has many applications in image processing, pattern recognition, and computer vision such as restoration of archeological artifacts and image descrambling. Approach: The algorithm used the gray level profiles of border pixels for local matching of the puzzle pieces, which was performed using dynamic … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2009 · 7,690 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTraveling Salesman Approach for Solving Petrol Distribution Using Simulated AnnealingZuhaimy Ismail, Wan Rohaizad Wan IbrahimThis research presents an attempt to solve a logistic company's problem of delivering petrol to petrol station in the state of Johor. This delivery system is formulated as a travelling salesman problem (TSP). TSP involves finding an optimal route for visiting stations and returning to point of origin, where the inter-station distance is symmetric and known. This real world application … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 7,194 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHybridization of Neural Learning Algorithms Using Evolutionary and Discrete Gradient ApproachesRanadhir Ghosh, John Yearwood, Moumita Ghosh, Adil BagirovIn this study we investigated a hybrid model based on the Discrete Gradient method and an evolutionary strategy for determining the weights in a feed forward artificial neural network. Also we discuss different variants for hybrid models using the Discrete Gradient method and an evolutionary strategy for determining the weights in a feed forward artificial neural network. The Discrete Gradient … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2005 · 6,587 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHighly Efficient Architecture for Scalable Focused Crawling Using Incremental Parallel Web CrawlerP. Jaganathan, T. KarthikeyanWith the growing industrial impact over the recent years in computer science, data mining has established itself as one of the most important disciplines. In the fast growing Web and in an appropriate amount of time, locating the resources that are precise and relevant is a huge challenge for the all-purpose single process crawlers, which makes the enhanced and the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 1 · 13 Sep 2014 · 7,940 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Alternative Graph Cut Algorithm for Morphological Edge DetectionP. RadhakrishnanProblem statement: Image analysis has some basic importance of edge detection. Characterize the object boundaries are helpful for object segmentation, registration and identification in a scene. There are many methods for edge detection, but it can be identified by two major methods, search-based and zero-crossing based. Approach: Proposed method tries to follow searching the edge points by applying graph cuts … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 29 May 2012 · 6,897 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDocument Clustering Based on Firefly AlgorithmAthraa Jasim Mohammed, Yuhanis Yusof, Husniza HusniDocument clustering is widely used in Information Retrieval however, existing clustering techniques suffer from local optima problem in determining the k number of clusters. Various efforts have been put to address such drawback and this includes the utilization of swarm-based algorithms such as particle swarm optimization and Ant Colony Optimization. This study explores the adaptation of another swarm algorithm which … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 26 Mar 2015 · 7,510 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimization of Electric Power Distribution Using Hybrid Simulated Annealing ApproachWalid Ahmed, Alaa F. ShetaThe key goal of electric power distribution companies is to provide a high quality of service with a low cost of operation. The growing customer needs requires a re-distribution of the Power over various nodes of the Distributed Generation (DG) facilitates. The re-distribution might cause over load on various parts of the networks which if not correctly optimized might increase … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 5 · 31 May 2008 · 6,606 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordEpsilon-Insensitive Primal Loss With Support Vector Machine for Robust Cotton Leaf Disease ClassificationPavana Kumar Eramachetty Dhanajayalu, Malathi Sivasamy, Chitveli Siva Balaji YadavCotton diseases significantly reduce both yield and quality of crops, making early and accurate identification of the disease crucial for effective prevention and control. However, achieving a balance between lightweight models and precise classification of cotton diseases remains challenging. This difficulty arises primarily from the dispersed nature of disease symptoms and interference from noisy backgrounds, which complicate the detection process. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 6 · 5 Aug 2026 · 755 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordCLASSIFICATION OF DIGITAL IMAGES USING FUSION ELEVATED ORDER CLASSIFIER IN WAVELET NEURAL NETWORKR. Arulmurugan, P. SengottuvelanThe revival of wavelet neural networks obtained an extensive use in digital image processing. The shape representation, classification and detection play a very important role in the image analysis. Boosted Greedy Sparse Linear Discriminate Analysis (BGSLDA) trains the cascade level of detection in an efficient manner. With the application of reweighting concept and deployment of class-reparability criterion, lesser search was … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 9 · 23 Jun 2014 · 6,790 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordSELECTION OF ONTOLOGY FOR WEB SERVICE DESCRIPTION LANGUAGE TO ONTOLOGY WEB LANGUAGE CONVERSIONJ. Mannar Mannan, M. Sundarambal, S. RaghulSemantic web is to extend the current human readable web to encoding some of the semantic of resources in a machine processing form. As a Semantic web component, Semantic Web Services (SWS) uses a mark-up that makes the data into detailed and sophisticated machine readable way. One such language is Ontology Web Language (OWL).
