Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImprovement of Image Matching by using the Proximity Criterion: Application to Omnidirectional and Perspective ImagesIbrahim Guelzim, Ahmed Hammouch, Driss AboutajdineProblem statement: In computer vision, matching is an important phase for several applications (object reconstruction, robot navigation ...). The similarity measures used provided results which could be improved. Approach: This research proposed to improve image matching by using the proximity criterion. The similarity measures used mutual information and correlation coefficient. The matching was done between neighborhoods of points of interest … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 15 Jul 2011 · 6,672 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSRBIR: Semantic Region Based Image Retrieval by Extracting the Dominant Region and Semantic LearningI. Felci Rajam, S. ValliProblem statement: The Semantic Region Based Image Retrieval (SRBIR) system that automatically segments the dominant foreground region, consisting of the semantic concept of the image, such as elephants, roses and does the semantic learning, is proposed. Approach: The system segments an image into different regions and finds the dominant foreground region in it, which is the semantic concept of that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 7 Mar 2011 · 7,026 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractGenome Sequence Analysis: A SurveyHassan Mathkour, Muneer AhmadProblem statement: Sequence analysis problems are NP hard and need optimal solutions. Interesting problems include duplicate sequence detection, sequence matching by relevance, sequence analysis using approximate comparison in general or using tools i.e., Matlab and multi-lingual sequence analysis. The usefulness of these operations is highlighted and future expectations are described. Approach: This study described the concepts, tools, methodologies, algorithms being … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 6,830 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordMeasuring the Relevance of Trajectory Matching and Profile Matching in the Context of Carpooling Computational SystemsMichael Cruz, Hendrik Macedo, Adolfo GuimarãesCarpooling consists of sharing individual vehicle space among people with comparable trajectories. Although there are some software initiatives to help carpooling practice, none of them really implements features similarly to searching for people with similar trajectories and profile. In this study, we propose an innovative approach to generate clusters of users that share similar trajectories and profile for carpooling purposes … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 2 · 3 Feb 2018 · 8,128 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordA POLYNOMIAL FUNCTION IN THE AUTOMATIC RECONSTRUCTION OF FRAGMENTED OBJECTSNada A. Rasheed, Md Jan NordinThe reconstruction of archaeological objects is a very challenging problem and solving this problem is important. Occasionally, archaeological workers suffer when trying to match object fragments together, especially when there is a presence of significant gaps in the fragments, or even in the case of similarity, where fragments are mixed with fragments of other objects. The main theme of this … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 20 Dec 2014 · 8,514 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAn Integrated Framework for Mixed Data Clustering Using Self Organizing MapHari Prasad Devaraj, M. PunithavalliProblem statement: Clustering plays an important role in data mining of large data and helps in analysis. This develops a vast importance in research field for providing better clustering technique. There are several techniques exists for clustering the similar kind of data. But only very few techniques exists for clustering mixed data items. This leads to the requirement of better … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 11 · 18 Aug 2011 · 7,304 accessesView PDF Cite
