Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordEnhancing Semantic Web Retrieval Through Ontology-Driven Feature Extraction: A Novel PropositionMeer Hazar Khan, Muhammad Imran Sharif, Mehwish Mehmood et al.Web images represent unstructured data sets which often lead to challenges when users try to locate distinct images via text-based searches on the web. Such difficulties stem from different factors, e.g., redundant image storage, irrelevant metadata tags, and incorrect associations. To overcome this issue, we propose a semantic model based on the ontology language that enables users to find images … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 5 · 23 Feb 2024 · 5,566 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordProtein Sequences Features Extraction for Predicting Beta- Turns and their Types: A ReviewMurtada Khalafallah Elbashir ElfakiBeta-turns are considered to be important secondary structure types that have essential role in molecular recognition, protein folding and stability. They represent 25% of protein structures, therefore they are the most common type of non-repetitive or tight turns structures. Their prediction is considered to be an important issue in bioinformatics and molecular biology, because it provides valuable information and inputs … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 9 · 1 Oct 2019 · 7,701 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordMEDICAL IMAGE SEGMENTATION FOR ANATOMICAL KNOWLEDGE EXTRACTIONMs Maya Eapen, Reeba KorahComputed Tomography-Angiography (CTA) images of the abdomen, followed by precise segmentation and subsequent computation of shape based features of liver play an important role in hepatic surgery, patient/donor diagnosis during liver transplantation and at various treatment stages. Nevertheless, the issues like intensity similarity and Partial Volume Effect (PVE) between the neighboring organs; left the task of liver segmentation critical. The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 7 · 22 Feb 2014 · 6,465 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordFeature Extraction and Classification of Blood Cells Using Artificial Neural NetworkMagudeeswaran Veluchamy, Karthikeyan Perumal, Thirumurugan PonuchamyProblem statement: One method of evaluating the clinical status is counting of cell types based on features that it contains. There is a need for a rapid, reproducible method, superior to human inspection and for the classification of cells. For solving these problems, quantitative digital-image analysis is applied and a novel method for classifications of affected blood cells from normal … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 18 Feb 2012 · 8,159 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAutomatic Recognition System of Vehicle Plate for Recording Incoming Vehicles to the University Campus and the OutgoingA.A. El-Harby, G.M. Behery, A.A. Al-DhawiAutomatic recognition of vehicle plate characters became a very important in our daily life because of the unlimited increase of vehicles that enter or leave a supervised area. This paper describes an automatic intelligent system that captures the images of vehicles and has the ability to recognize the plates of vehicles entering the university campus or leaving. A camera is … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 4 · 12 Apr 2017 · 7,682 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordPrincipal Component Analysis Based Feature Extraction, Morphological Edge Detection and Localization for Fast Iris RecognitionM. Suganthy, P. RamamoorthyThis study involves the Iris Localization based on morphological or set theory which is well in shape detection. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is used for preprocessing, in which the removal of redundant and unwanted data is done. Applications such as Median Filtering and Adaptive thresholding are used for handling the variations in lighting and noise. Features are extracted using Wavelet … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 9 · 9 Aug 2012 · 7,753 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordShot Detection Using Genetic Edge Histogram and Object Based Video Retrieval Using Multiple FeaturesR. Kanagavalli, K. DuraiswamyAs the usage of multimedia data increasing rapidly, how to get the video data we need efficiently become so important. Recent advances in multimedia technologies allow the capture and storage of video data with relatively inexpensive computers. Problem Statement: However, without appropriate search techniques all these data are hardly usable. Users want to query the content instead of the raw … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 3 Aug 2012 · 6,857 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordFeatures Extraction Based on Linear Regression TechniqueKhalid W. MagldProblem statement: The matching problem of complex objects is one of the most difficult task in the pattern recognition field. These problems are made difficult by seemingly infinite varieties of shapes and classes which are used. The difficulties are related to absolute shape measurement, given the impossibility of directly mapping shapes, as such, into a feature space. Approach: In this … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 25 Feb 2012 · 7,053 accessesView PDFCite
