Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTonal Language Speech Compression Based on a Bitrate Scalable Multi-Pulse Based Code Excited Linear Prediction CoderSuphattharachai ChomphanProblem statement: Speech compression is an important issue in the modern digital speech communication. The functionality of bitrates scalability also plays significant role, since the capacity of communication system varies all the time. When considering tonal speech, such as Thai, tone plays important role on the naturalness and the intelligibility of the speech, it must be treated appropriately. Therefore these … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 6,810 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHigh Pitch Delay Resolution Technique for Tonal Language Speech Coding Based on Multi-Pulse Based Code Excited Linear Prediction AlgorithmSuphattharachai ChomphanProblem statement: In spontaneous speech communication, speech coding is an important process that should be taken into account, since the quality of coded speech depends on the efficiency of the speech coding algorithm. As for tonal language which tone plays important role not only on the naturalness and also the intelligibility of the speech, tone must be treated appropriately. Approach: … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 14 Jan 2011 · 6,729 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Ontology Driven, Procedural Reasoning System-Like Agent Model, For Multi-Agent Based Mobile Workforce Brokering SystemsArash Mousavi, Md. Jan Nordin, Zulaiha Ali OthmanProblem statement: It has been proven that Believe, Desire, Intention (BDI) agent architecture, performs suitably in dynamic and unpredictable environments. Although BDI architecture has been formulated rigorously, implementing BDI architecture is not as straightforward as it has been promised. Nevertheless, the preeminent implementation of BDI architecture is Procedural Reasoning System (PRS) and Jadex is a Java-based platform that successfully applies … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 5 · 31 May 2010 · 7,664 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOmega Network Hash ConstructionChai Wen Chuah, Azman SamsudinProblem statement: Cryptographic hash functions are important cryptographic primitives. They are commonly used for data integrity checking and data authentication. Most of the cryptographic hash functions are based on the Merkle-Damgård construction. The basic Merkle-Damgård construction runs over the input sequentially, which can lead to problems when the input size is large since the computation time increases linearly. Approach: Therefore, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,123 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTowards Solving the Problem of Virtual Machine Placement in Cloud Computing: A Job Classification ApproachAuday Al-Dulaimy, Ahmed Zekri, Wassim Itani, Rached ZantoutCloud Computing is a paradigm that delivers services by providing an access to wide range of shared resources which are hosted in cloud data centers. One of the recent challenges in this paradigm is to enhance the energy efficiency in these data centers. In this study, a model that identifies common patterns for the jobs submitted to the cloud is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 3 · 8 Apr 2016 · 7,283 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnhanced Preemptive Global Utility Accrual Real Time Scheduling Algorithms in Multicore EnvironmentIdawaty Ahmad, Mohamed Othman, Zuriati Ahmad ZulkarnainThis paper proposed an efficient real time scheduling algorithm using global scheduling paradigm running in multicore environment known as Global Preemptive Utility Accrual Scheduling (GPUAS) algorithm. The existing TUF/UA multiprocessor scheduling algorithms known as Greedy-Global Utility Accrual (G-GUA) and Non Greedy-Global Utility Accrual (NG-GUA) algorithms is seen to overlook the efficiency on its task scheduling algorithm. These algorithms have adapted … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 12 · 11 Feb 2016 · 6,390 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractComposite Pseudo Associative Cache with Victim Cache for Mobile ProcessorsLakshmi Deepika Bobbala, Monobrata Debnath, Byeong Kil LeeProblem statement: Multi-core trends are becoming dominant, creating sophisticated and complicated cache structures. One of the easiest ways to design cache memory for increasing performance is to double the cache size. The big cache size is directly related to the area and power consumption. Especially in mobile processors, simple increase of the cache size may significantly affect its chip area … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 4 Aug 2011 · 7,089 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCross European Financial Networks Related to Turkish Immigrants and their Businesses: The Case of Turkish-Owned Commercial Bank Under Dutch LegislationShahamak RezaeiProblem statement: Understanding the character and strategies of ethnic economy and ethnic enclave economy this study concluded, that it is necessary to look beyond and within the demarcation of national background and even ethnic boundaries in a broader sense according to which these phenomena mistakenly had been attempted to be explained. The engine of ethnic enclave economy cannot be upheld … …American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, Vol. 2, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2010 · 7,219 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractWireless Communication with a Microprocessor Based Ultrasonic Meter for Flow MeasurementsMahmoud Z. IskandaraniProblem statement: Although the traditional metering system and method for controlling flow is generally safe, reliable and robust, it does suffer certain drawbacks, such as limited accuracy and the ability to implement complex reactive rate designs. Hence, there is a need for a circuit and method of increasing metering accuracy, as well as the position control accuracy for variable flow … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,584 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIntegrated Metric-Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector: A Routing Protocol over Wireless Mesh NetworksMd. Arafatur Rahman, Farhat Anwar, Md. Saiful AzadProblem statement: Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) is an emerging technology for wireless environment. Since WMNs are permanent or semi-permanent network, an efficient and reliable path establishment is the core concern for such type of networks.
