Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAndroid Based Energy Aware Framework for Porting Legacy ApplicationsNaeem Zafar AzeemiTrend is growing towards using complex multimedia functions on smaller devices. In this study, we explore the effect of migrating legacy signal processing software applications algorithms from large form factor devices to the smaller one such as handheld mobile devices known as Energy Conscious Mobile Computing Systems (EConMCS). We concentrate on Source Code Volatility (SCV), including inherent algorithm complexity and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 12 · 3 Jan 2015 · 6,288 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEDGE PRESERVED IMAGE COMPRESSION USING EXTENDED SHEARLET TRANSFORMS. Thayammal, D. SelvathiThe motivation of the proposed compression method is to reduce the bit rate for image transmission or memory requirement for image storage while maintaining image quality. The edges are one of the prominent features in an image and they are essential for maintaining image quality. JPEG compression standards like JPEG98 and JPEG2000 produce visual artifacts in reconstructed image at low … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 1 · 15 Sep 2014 · 7,041 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF HIGH EFFICIENT AND LOW POWER ARCHITECTURE FOR FUZZY BASED IMAGE FUSIONS. Anbumozhi, P. S. ManoharanImage fusion based on wavelet transform is the most commonly used image fusion method, which fuses the source images’ information in wavelet domain according to some fusion rules. But because of the uncertainties of the source images’ contributions to the fused image, how to design a good fusion rule to integrate as much information as possible into the fused image … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 5 · 21 Feb 2014 · 6,753 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA NOVEL APPROACH FOR INFORMATION SECURITY IN AD HOC NETWORKS THROUGH SECURE KEY MANAGEMENTS. Suma Christal Mary, M. PallikondaRajasekaran, Y. ChrisbinJeevaAd hoc networks provide flexible and adaptive networks with no fixed infrastructure and dynamic topology. Owe to the vulnerability nature of ad hoc network, there are lots of security threats that diminish the development of ad hoc networks. Therefore, to provide security for information of users and to preserve their privacy, it becomes mandatory to use cryptographic techniques to set … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 11 · 2 Oct 2013 · 6,690 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMathematical Attacks on RSA CryptosystemImad K. Salah, Abdullah Darwish, Saleh OqeiliIn this paper some of the most common attacks against Rivest, Shamir, and Adleman (RSA) cryptosystem are presented. We describe the integer factoring attacks, attacks on the underlying mathematical function, as well as attacks that exploit details in implementations of the algorithm. Algorithms for each type of attacks are developed and analyzed by their complexity, memory requirements and area of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2006 · 8,420 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordUsing Threads to Overcome Synchronization Delays in Parallel Multiple Progressive Alignment AlgorithmsEvandro A. Marucci, Geraldo F.D. Zafalon, Julio C. Momente et al.Problem statement: The parallelization of multiple progressive alignment algorithms is a difficult task. All known methods have strong bottlenecks resulting from synchronization delays. This is even more constraining in distributed memory systems, where message passing also delays the interprocess communication. Despite these drawbacks, parallel computing is becoming increasingly necessary to perform multiple sequence alignment. Approach: In this study, it is … …Current Research in Bioinformatics, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 8 Mar 2012 · 14,192 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordSorting N-Elements Using Natural Order: A New Adaptive Sorting ApproachShamim Akhter, M. Tanveer HasanProblem statement: Researchers focused their attention on optimally adaptive sorting algorithm and illustrated a need to develop tools for constructing adaptive algorithms for large classes of measures. In adaptive sorting algorithm the run time for n input data smoothly varies from O(n) to O(nlogn), with respect to several measures of disorder. Questions were raised whether any approach or technique would … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2010 · 7,722 accessesView PDFCite
