Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSingle Pass Seed Selection Algorithm for k-MeansK. Karteeka Pavan, Allam Appa Rao, A.V. Dattatreya Rao, G. R. SridharProblem statement: The k-means method is one of the most widely used clustering techniques for various applications. However, the k-means often converges to local optimum and the result depends on the initial seeds. Inappropriate choice of initial seeds may yield poor results. k-means++ is a way of initializing k-means by choosing initial seeds with specific probabilities. Due to the random … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2010 · 7,541 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThe Meaning of a Redundant Codon: There is Protein Folding Information in Nucleic Acids in Addition to the Genetic CodeJan C. Biro, Josephine M.K. BiroAll the information necessary for protein folding is supposed to be present in the amino acid sequence. It is still not possible to provide specific ab initio structure predictions by bioinformatical methods. It is suspected that additional folding information is present in protein coding nucleic acid sequences, which is not represented by the known genetic code. Nucleic acid subsequences comprising … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2006 · 8,292 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDecentralized Predictive Secure VS Placement in Cloud EnvironmentSuresh Baliram Rathod, Vuyyuru Krishna ReddyHosts in distributed cloud environment configured with Local Resource Monitors (LRM) that runs autonomously, monitors underlying host’s resource usage and balances underlying host’s resource usage by migrating Virtual Machine (VM) to other hosts. LRM takes decision for VM migration at fixed interval considering own current CPU usage and the other hosts CPU usage. The peer hosts unawares about the decision … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 3 · 21 Mar 2018 · 7,905 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTHE CLINICAL APPLICATIONS FOR AUTOMATIC DETECTION OF EXUDATESK. Wisaeng, N. Hiransakolwong, E. PothirukNowadays, the retinal imaging technology has been widely used for segmenting and detecting the exudates in diabetic retinopathy patients. Unfortunately, the retinal images in Thailand are poor-quality images. Therefore, detecting of exudates in a large number by screening programs, are very expensive in professional time and may cause human error. In this study, the clinical applications for detection of exudates … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 10 · 27 Sep 2014 · 6,446 accessesView PDFCite
