Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsINVESTIGATION ON THE DIAGNOSIS OF SIMPLE AND COMBINES MECHANICAL FAULTS IN ASYNCHRONOUS MOTOR BASED ELECTRIC DRIVESBouras A. Karim, Bouras Slimane, Hadjadj A. Elias et al.In this study, the problems of mechanical unbalance, parallel and angular misalignments and their combinations are analyzed experimentally. Such frequent defects in the drives mainly in the major powers are also responsible for the bearings degradation. However, they have not raised the attention of researchers, given the complexity of their modeling. The combination of the phasic current signal analysis and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 6 · 11 Apr 2014 · 6,685 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Review on Electric Traction using WE SystemAnurag Dwivedi, Dhananjay Kumar, Nitesh TiwariIn this analysis, the recent trend the generated renewable source energy (like wind energy) utilized the traction system. Present a limited conventional source. Environment pollution by the burning of diesel fuel will be increased. And the using wind energy source controls the pollution and efficiency will be increased. In this process, the wind energy system is connected to the network … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 6 May 2019 · 6,716 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFuzzy Inference System Based Power Factor Correction of Three Phase Diode Rectifier Using Field Programable Gate ArraySundar Rajan Giri Thulasiraman, Christober Asir RajanThis study describes a novel method in improving the input current total harmonic distortion as well as power factor of a three-phase diode rectifier circuit. In this method, three bidirectional switches comprising MOSFET and four diodes are used across the three-phase supply and load. In a three-phase rectifier only two diodes conduct at any given time. As a result, the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 9 · 24 Aug 2013 · 6,877 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractParticle Swarm and Neural Network Approach for Fault Clearing of Multilevel InvertersR. M.S. Parvathi, M. SivakumarThis study presents a machine learning technique for fault diagnostics in induction motor drives. A normal model and an extensive range of faulted models for the inverter-motor combination were developed and implemented using a generic commercial simulation tool to generate voltages and current signals at a broad range of operating points selected by a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based machine … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 6 · 8 Jun 2013 · 6,486 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSimplified Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of Permanent Magnet Brushless Direct Current Motors for Sensorless OperationE. Kaliappan, C. ChellamuthuProblem statement: In this study, a simplified modeling and experimental analysis of Permanent Magnet Brushless DC (PMBLDC) motors for Sensorless operation using MATLAB/SIMULINK. This model provides a mechanism for monitoring and controlling the voltage, current, speed and torque response. Approach: BLDC motor is modeled as sub-blocks. The inverter and switching function are implemented as S-function builder block. The Sensorless scheme … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 16 May 2012 · 7,643 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHarmonics Phase Shifter for a Three-Phase System with Voltage Control by Integral-Cycle Triggering Mode of ThyristorsI. Badran, A.L. Mahmood, M.T. LazimIn integral-cycle triggering mode of voltage control, subharmonic as well as higher order harmonic components are generated in the load voltage waveforms of a three-phase system. These harmonic components are found to be unbalanced in phase displacement. The correction of the unbalanced phase displacement angles of a particular subharmonic or higher order harmonic for this type of triggering is investigated … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 7,110 accessesView PDFCite
