Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA New Algorithm for Fractal Coding Using Self Organizing MapS. Bhavani, k. ThanushkodiProblem statement: In medical imaging, lossy compression schemes are generally not used due to possible loss of useful clinical information and also degradations may result in lossy compression owing to operations like enhancement. As the medical images are huge in size a good lossy compression technology is required to store them in medical archives in an economical manner. There is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 15 Mar 2012 · 7,583 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Enhancement of Underwater Target Tracking by Fusing Data of Array of Global Positioning System SonobuoysAhmed El-Shafie, Abdallah Osman, Aboelmagd Noureldin, Aini HussainProblem statement: An accurate knowledge of geographic positions of sonobuoys is critical for the conduct of antisubmarine warfare operations and detected target localization. Deployed from an airborne platform or a surface vessel, arrays of sonobuoys could be used to efficiently track and localize submarines. Lastly, some sonobuoys were being equipped with GPS for improving system accuracy and potentially allowing networked … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2009 · 7,469 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractGeneralization Aspect of Neural Networks on Upgrading Assimilation Structure into Accommodating SchemeWaleed, A. J. Rasheed, Hamza A. AliProblem statement: Generalization feature enhancement of neural networks, especially feed forward structural model has limited progress. The major reason behind such limitation is attributed to the principal definition and the inability to interpret it into convenient structure. Traditional schemes, unfortunately have regarded generalization as an innate outcome of the simple association, referred to by Pavlov and had been modeled by … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2009 · 7,149 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordEnhancement of Arabic Text Classification Using Semantic Relations of Arabic WordNetSuhad A. Yousif, Venus W. Samawi, Islam Elkabani, Rached ZantoutArabic text classification methods have emerged as a natural result of the existence of a massive amount of varied textual information (written in Arabic language) on the web. In most text classification processes, feature selection is crucial task since it highly affects the classification accuracy. Generally, two types of features could be used: Statistical based features and semantic and concept … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 15 Apr 2015 · 8,065 accessesView PDF Cite
