Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIntrusion-Resistant Multi-Hop Communication Protocol for Secure Wireless Sensor NetworksRakesh Ranjan, Vaishali Singh, Hitendra SinghModern Internet of Things (IoT) systems are based on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), which can be distributed to various environments to perform a range of sensing and data aggregation. Their intrinsic deficiencies in computation, energy, and bandwidth, however, make them very vulnerable to routing-layer attacks like black hole and selective forwarding as well as Sybil intrusion. The current studies on … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 6 · 1 Jul 2026 · 935 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMulti-Agent Energy Allocation Optimization in Local Energy Communities: A Comparative StudyAmira Dhorbani, Dhaker Abbes, Benoît Robyns, Kahina Hassam OuariThe growing diversity of energy demands, combined with the integration of renewable and distributed energy systems, calls for more adaptive energy management strategies. This study presents a comparative simulation-based analysis of three energy management approaches applied to a local energy community: A Multi-Agent System (MAS), a centralized rule-based method, and a game-theory-based optimization using the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 22, Issue 1 · 30 Dec 2025 · 3,381 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimizing Cluster Head Selection Algorithms to Improve Power Efficiency in Agricultural Wireless Sensor NetworksSaed TarapiahThe current research addresses the management of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) with a focus on optimizing power consumption, a critical concern in current research. The study uses agricultural WSNs to monitor farming areas, aiming to enhance decision-making in farm management. The importance of such monitoring systems in the region is emphasized. Previous research highlights clustering as an effective technique for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 4 · 3 Mar 2025 · 4,940 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign and Construction of a Smart Meter with Embedded Web PortalDavid Mike-Ewewie, Ayodele Ifijeh, Victoria Oguntosin et al.The absence of the necessary infrastructure to make an accurate and precise collection of data when compared to the first-world countries in the power industry is great. Due to that, the need for the deployment of smart meters has increased in order to offer consumers and customers awareness of their electricity usage, helping them lower their total energy footprint. In … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 8 · 14 Jun 2024 · 5,275 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMulti Resources and Constraints Based Consolidation Model to Mitigate the Energy ExtravaganceArchana Patil, Rekha PatilTo design green clouds with optimal energy and resource consumption, the host consolidation process became the most prominent cloud management policy today. In case of a consolidation, the underloaded host's VMs are shifted to the other hosts to control the energy extravagance at a data center. The consolidation process is considered an NP-hard problem, as it depends on several computational … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 18, Issue 7 · 28 Jul 2022 · 5,861 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Systematic Review on Wake-up Radios Applied to Wireless Sensor NetworksMarco Aurélio Spohn, Caetano Mazzoni Ranieri, Agnelo Rocha da Silva, Jó UeyamaWireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are the backbone of many monitoring applications, especially in the Internet of Things (IoT) context. However, efficient power management becomes a critical challenge when sensor nodes rely on disposable batteries. The deployment of WSNs must ensure coverage and connectivity, but the resulting distribution of nodes and underlying protocols directly impact the network’s lifetime. The concept of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 3 · 4 Feb 2025 · 6,201 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Fuzzy Logic-Based Smart Traffic Management SystemsAdel Abdallah Abdou, Mohamed Hassan Farrag, A. S. TolbaTraffic congestion is a serious problem in many developing countrieslike Egypt. In the presence of thetraditional traffic light system, it creates health risks, wastes time andfuel, and pollutes the air. Therefore, there is a big need for a smart trafficmanagement system. This study contributes in solving this problem byintroducing an artificial intelligence-based smart traffic light system usingfuzzy logic to ensure … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 18, Issue 11 · 24 Nov 2022 · 7,180 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractRationalizing Resource Utilization in Cloud Computing Using Coalition Formation StrategyHend Fakhri Noureldin, Mai FadelEven though the contribution of cloud computing towards the Sustainable Development (SD) of communities is still under research investigation, cloud computing has become an integral part of many ICT solutions that shape our daily lives. Thus, some researchers recommend taking considerable actions to point cloud computing development towards supporting SD. In this research, an approach to designing energy efficient cloud … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 6 · 15 Jun 2021 · 6,978 accessesView PDFCite
