Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFuzzy Velocity Biased-Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector to Improve Throughput in Dynamic Mobile NetworkK. Tamizarasu, M. RajaramProblem statement: With the escalating demand for mobile ad hoc network projects, major challenges to system planners and designers were addressing stability and reliability problems due to frequent change of network topology. Controlling an overhead, which means bandwidth utilization due to control packets, depends on the routing protocol, topology and data traffic. Limiting the network control overheads, of this highly … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 21 Nov 2011 · 7,056 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractWheat Production and EconomicsElgilany Ahmed, Jamalludin Sulaiman, Saidatulakmal MohdProblem statement: The crop in the irrigated scheme has faced by manifold problems contributed to low level of productivity and high cost of production of wheat. The crop is commonly produced under pump irrigation from the River Nile. In River Nile State (RNS), wheat is grown under the irrigated sector, the State is considered as a suitable environment for producing … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 4 Aug 2011 · 10,569 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAnalysis of Interregional Commodity FlowsWirach Hirun, Sompong SirisoponsilpProblem statement: Commodity Flow Survey (CFS) was launched to collect comprehensive freight flow data throughout the kingdom of Thailand. The survey’s database is the most complete collection of commodity flow data in Thailand. The need to reveal interregional freight characteristics using available data from the CFS led to the objectives of this research. Approach: An origin destination matrix based on … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 22 Nov 2010 · 8,922 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractComparison of Exact Algorithms for Rectilinear Distance Single-Source Capacitated Multi-Facility Weber ProblemsChansiri Singhtaun, Peerayuth CharnsethikulProblem statement: The objective of this study is to develop efficient exact algorithms for a single source capacitated multi-facility location problem with rectilinear distance. This problem is concerned with locating m capacitated facilities in the two dimensional plane to satisfy the demand of n customers with minimum total transportation cost which is proportional to the rectilinear distance between the facilities … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2010 · 7,524 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSwarm-Based Feature Selection for Handwriting IdentificationSiti Zaiton Mohd Hashim, Khaled Mohammed Bin AbdlProblem statement: Handwriting identification is the study for identifying or verifying the writer of a given handwritten document. Since the handwriting features are the cornerstone in the writers' classification process, the classifier accuracy is sensitive in terms of how the writers are scored based on the used features. Approach: In this study, we introduced swarm intelligence as a features weighting … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2010 · 7,403 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Complete Automation of Unit Testing for JavaScript ProgramsM. AlshraidehProblem statement: Program testing is expensive and labor intensive, often consuming more than half of the total development costs, and yet it is frequently not done well and the results are not always satisfactory. The objective of this paper is to present an automatic test data generation tool that aims to completely automate unit testing of JavaScript functions. The methodology: … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,289 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSkeleton Primitive Extraction Method on Textures with Different Nonlinear WaveletsV. V. Kumar, U. S.N. Raju, P. Premchand, A. SureshProblem Statement: A novel method for dominant skeleton extraction of textures using different nonlinear wavelet transforms is proposed in this study. In the present study 3×3 masks are used for extraction of skeleton primitives. For a 3×3 skeleton primitive there will be 29 skeleton primitive combinations. But the present study considered a skeleton primitive for the skeletonization purpose if and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2008 · 6,808 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractContribution of the Entropy Function to the Study of Collimator for Nuclear Medicine ImagingM.S. Bouhdima, I. Elloumi, M.H.B. GhozlenScintigraphic image currently used in the diagnosis or the evaluation process of tissues, is strongly dependant on several technical parameters specially collimator characteristics. The present work describes a numerical method, based on entropy function, able to specify depth and hole diameter of collimator as well as other geometrical parameters to get a better accuracy in scintigraphy evaluation. From the classical … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2007 · 6,737 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAVUNET Author: An Authoring System for Distance Learning PlatformLamri Douidi, Mahieddine Djoudi, Chabane KhentoutAn authoring system was presented in this study, “AVUNET Author” which allows the creation of interactive learning object within a distance teaching platform on the Internet. For the conception of this system, we stated with the assumption that the content of distance teaching is not just to put online the content used for classroom teaching.
