Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsWavelet Analysis and Orthogonal Moments based Classification of Microcalcification in Digital MammogramsN. V.S. Sree Rathna Lakshmi, C. ManoharanProblem statement: An important early sign of breast cancer is the clusters of micro calcifications in digital mammograms. To assist radiologists in the diagnosis of mammographic clusters a novel hybrid algorithm has been developed. Approach: A method, for detecting micro calcification in mammograms based on combined feature set with Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) was proposed. The diagonal matrix ‘S’ obtained … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 6 Aug 2011 · 6,558 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImplementation of Computer Aided Diagnosis System Based on Parallel Approach of Ant Based Medical Image SegmentationJayabalan Jaya, Keppanagowder ThanushkodiProblem statement: The aim of this study is to develop Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system for the detection of brain tumor by using parallel implementation of ACO system for medical image segmentation applications due to the rapid execution for obtaining and extracting the Region of Interest (ROI) from the images for diagnostic purposes in medical field. Approach: For ROI segmentation, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 8,130 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsLoad Balancing of Distributed Systems Based on Multiple Ant Colonies OptimizationAl-Dahoud Ali, Mohamed A. Belal, Moh’d Belal Al-ZoubiProblem statement: Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) provides a meta-heuristic optimization tool and collective intelligence model to several applications such as routing and load balancing. A lot of work found in the literature on using ACO in load balancing. However, as far as our knowledge, there was no work relating load balancing in distributed systems with ACO. Approach: In this study, … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,209 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMultiple Constraints for Ant Based Multicast Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksA. Sabari, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is one of the challenging environments for multicast. Since the associated overhead is more, the existing studies illustrate that tree-based and mesh-based on-demand protocols are not the best choice. The costs of the tree under multiple constraints are reduced by the several algorithms which are based on the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 6,868 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEmbedding Malaysian House Red Ant Behavior into an Ant Colony SystemZ. A. Othman, H. M. Rais, A. R. HamdanProblem statement: Ant Colony System (ACS) is the most popular algorithm used to find a shortest path solution in Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). Several ACS versions have been proposed which aim to achieve an optimum solution by adjusting pheromone levels. However, it still has a room on an improvement. This research aims to improve the algorithm by embedding individual Malaysian … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 6,961 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAnt Colony Based Node Disjoint Hybrid Multi-path Routing for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkB. Kalaavathi, K. DuraiswamyMobile Ad hoc Networks are characterized by multi-hop wireless links, without any infrastructure and frequent node mobility. A class of ant colony based routing protocols has recently gained attention because of their adaptability to the network changes. AntHocNet is ant colony based hybrid algorithm, which combines reactive path setup with proactive path probing, maintenance and improvement. Multi-path routing represents a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 7,043 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFedLoBA-1: A Load Balancing Architecture for Mitigating Resource Overloading in Federated Cloud InfrastructuresDamola Gideon Akinola, Emmanuel Adetiba et al.In a subscription-based service such as cloud computing, clients have scheduled access to shared resources such as data, software, storage, and other assets as needed. Despite several benefits, cloud computing still faces significant difficulties. Load balancing, which is the capacity of the cloud infrastructure to equally distribute tasks among the resources in the cloud environment has significant issues. Cloud federation … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 2 · 23 Jan 2025 · 6,326 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnergy and Distance Aware Multi-Objective Firebug Swarm Optimization Based Clustering and Routing in Wireless Sensor NetworksGundeboyina Srinivasalu, Hanumanthappa UmadeviIn recent years, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have received increased international attention due to advancements in the communication, electronics, and information fields. These sensor networks integrate a huge number of sensor nodes to track rapidly changing physical events. The key improvement is that these nodes can be easily positioned in any environment due to their small size. Therefore, maintaining network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 3 · 10 Feb 2023 · 6,029 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractBio-inspired Search Approach Cross-Domain Location Mapping for Smart Mobile Service SystemIsrael Edem Agbehadji, Abdultaofeek Abayomi, Murimo B. Mutanga et al.The health care service sector is very critical in every country. Although governments have made significant efforts to improve health infrastructure and train more qualified health professionals, the majority of them cannot find jobs within public health facilities. Furthermore, patients queue at health care facilities for hours daily for basic health care services while job creation and reducing these long … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 18, Issue 4 · 26 Apr 2022 · 6,158 accessesView PDFCite
