Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImplementation of IP Video Streaming Software to Identify Availability and AudienceVitor Chaves de Oliveira, Sérgio Bimbi Junior, Andreiwid Sheffer Corrêa et al.The perpetual rise of the video on demand is currently one of the leading challenges the telecommunications industry faces. It per passes the eternal comparison with a service that continuously set’s the bar at a highly elevated consumer quality. And the user, advertiser and all stakeholders involved not only are used to it, but demand equal and/or similar value, i.e., … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 7 · 11 Jun 2018 · 8,600 accessesView PDFCite
EditorialOpen accessIn the abstractBig Data and Parkinson’s Disease - from Understanding of Disease to Personalised MedicineYen F. Tai, Nicola PaveseThe advancement of information technology in recent years has generated a huge amount of datasets in all areas of scientific research. This has led to new opportunities to harness the 'Big Data' to improve our understanding of diseases - from investigating disease mechanisms to monitoring treatment responses. The Big Data approach is a data-driven and often hypothesis-free, way of studying … …Neuroscience International, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 27 Jul 2016 · 7,761 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Guaranteed Time and Rate Control Method for Improving QoS in WLANA. Anitha, J. JayakumariWireless Local Area Network is a mobile network, which connects the users in a small specific area. The devices within the area connect with each other through the wireless access points. The main requirements for the connection between the wireless devices are the time and the power. The transmission time between the wireless devices should be less and the power … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 3 · 10 Mar 2016 · 7,330 accessesView PDFCite
Research NotesOpen accessIn the abstractA Comprehensive Study on Mobility Issues in AODVThiripurasundari SivakrishnakumarAd-hoc network plays an important role in wireless networks as they are self-configured and can be operated independently with limited resources. The critical issue is to assess the performance of routing protocols in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) due to the frequent changes in network topology. Here the Ad-hoc On demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol, which is quite susceptible … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 10 · 2 Jan 2016 · 6,729 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOPTIMAL RESOURCE ALLOCATION FOR LAYERED VIDEO MULTICASTING IN WIMAXHung-Yi Teng, Chun-Hung Wu, Ren-Hung HwangReal-time video disseminations over wireless links such as video telephony, video conferencing and mobile TV have become fast growing applications. In order to cope with the increasing users' demand, a new scalable and efficient wireless distribution platform is needed. With numerous advantages such as QoS assurance, high data rate and wide coverage, WiMAX has been regarded as an ideal choice … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 24 Dec 2014 · 7,412 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPath Loss Prediction Using Fuzzy Inference System and Ellipsoidal RulesMario Versaci, Salvatore Calcagno, Fabio La Foresta, Biagio CammarotoIt is well known as the prediction of radio wave path loss in urban environment plays a key role in order to correctly plan wireless systems and mobile communication networks. To obtain more flexible prediction models able to give accurate results, in recent years Soft computing Techniques has been exploited. In this study, a novel approach based on ellipsoidal fuzzy … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 6 Dec 2012 · 6,774 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImage Compression Algorithms Using Intensity Based Adaptive Quantization CodingSaad Al-Azawi, Said Boussakta, Alex YakovlevProblem statement: Low complexity image compression algorithms are necessary for modern portable devices such as mobile phones, wireless sensor networks and high constraint power consumption devices. In such applications low bit rate along with an acceptable image quality are an essential requirements. Approach: This study proposes low and moderate complexity algorithms for colour image compression. Two algorithms will be presented; … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 18 Jan 2012 · 8,501 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEvaluation of Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol in HetMAN ArchitectureZahian Ismail, Rosilah HassanProblem statement: Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET), a type of network with special characteristics, needs a special mechanism to bear with its ad hoc behavior. Approach: The important issue in MANET is routing protocol. Routing protocol is a standard used to determine the route path taken during the transmission of data. Results: In this study we focused on the Ad … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 6,336 accessesView PDFCite
