Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAdaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System-Particle Swarm Optimization Based Stability Maintenance of Power System NetworksR. Latha, J. KanakarajDuring faulty condition voltage instability is one of the major crisis in power system networks. This study proposes a hybrid learning algorithm to improve the stability performance of a power system with Distributed Generations (DGs). Here the distribution system stability is maintained with reduced power loss using an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference Systems (ANFIS) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) techniques. Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEmbedded Computer Based Active Vibration Control System for Vibration Reduction of Flexible StructuresVenkata Ratnam Tatavolu, Seetha Ramaiah PanchumarthyResearch on Active Vibration Control System (AVCS) is being carried out to reduce structural vibrations caused by unwanted vibrations in many application areas such as in space, aircraft structures, satellites, automobiles and civil structures (bridges), particularly at low frequencies. The unwanted vibration may cause damage to the structure or degradation to the structure’s performance. The AVCS comprises physical plant, a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 15 Jun 2013 · 6,550 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStatic and Dynamic Location of Variable Impedance Devices for Stability StudiesN. Magaji, M. W. Mustafa, Ado Dan-Isa, A. U. LawanThis study used the concept of model controllability and observability in product form called residue factor to find the best location of Thyristor-Controlled based series and shunt devices called variable impedance devices. The success of this controller depends on its best possible location in busbar or line of power system network. The method is based on the relationship between the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 5 · 31 May 2013 · 6,625 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDevelopment of a Electrically Inspired Low Emission Microcontroller Based Hybrid VehicleM. Habib Ullah, T. S. Gunawan, Sharif M. Raihan, Riza MuhidaProblem statement: Recently, influx of research afford is being concentrated in automobile engineering to develop low emission hybrid electric vehicle to reduce the greenhouse gases such as hydro-carbons, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, produces from the vehicle. Approach: Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) powered by electric machines and an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) are a promising mean of reducing emissions and fuel … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 25 Aug 2012 · 7,197 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Automatic IncubatorSiriluk Sansomboonsuk, Chagorn Phonhan, Girati PhonhanThe designing of an automatic incubator consists of three main parts. The first part is a mathematical model of an incubator. Thermo-physical properties of selected materials were substituted to investigate its heat transfer characteristics. The second part is the consideration of equipment used to measure and control temperature and humidity. The last part is to select the controller for an … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 29 May 2012 · 14,918 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImplementation of Line Stability Index for Contingency Analysis and Screening in Power SystemsC. Subramani, Subhransu Sekhar Dash, Vivek Kumar, Harish KiranProblem statement: Estimating the margin in the loadability of the power system is essential in the real time voltage stability assessment. Voltage stability is currently one of the most important research areas in the field of electrical power system. In power system operation unpredictable events is termed as contingency and may be caused by line outage in the system which … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 11 Feb 2012 · 7,132 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHigh Performance Computing on Fast Lock Delay Locked Loop with Low Power State and Simultanoeus Switching Noise ReductionT. S. Karthik, V. Jawahar Senthil KumarProblem statement: In any multimedia processor, controller may consume most of the on-chip memory resources. The memory requirement is directly depends on algorithm shared by different blocks, so leads to failure in the system models. Approach: This study presents the implementation of DLL unit used for memory optimization. Various aspects of the underlying coarse lock detector are explored and modifications … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 3 · 6 Jan 2012 · 7,172 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDevelopment of Cultural Management and Inheritance by Community ParticipationPichayapol Nguanthaisong, Souneth Phothisane, Sastra LaoakkaProblem statement: Museums were places where all collections, which indicated values of arts and cultural heritages that were useful for learning, were kept. Establishment of museums was successful by having development, systematic management, cultural inheritance, knowledge transferring, participation and support. Approach: This study aimed to study backgrounds of museum development in temples in the area of the lower northeastern, to … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 8 Feb 2011 · 8,000 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAutomating Commercial Video Game Development using Computational IntelligenceTse Guan Tan, Jason Teo, Patricia AnthonyProblem statement: The retail sales of computer and video games have grown enormously during the last few years, not just in United States (US), but also all over the world. This is the reason a lot of game developers and academic researchers have focused on game related technologies, such as graphics, audio, physics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the goal … …American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2011 · 7,618 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPan Correction through Overlap Estimation in a Multi-Camera EnvironmentS. Mohamed Mansoor Roomi, V. Manojkumar, M. SenthilarasiProblem statement: Multiple cameras are employed for surveillance of larger environment. In such a case there is a need to maintain overlap in the adjacent cameras for correct object registration. Overlap may get disturbed by natural or manual factors. This study proposed an automatic camera pan correction by determining the area of overlap from multi-view images.
