Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAutomatic Personal Identification Using Feature Similarity Index MatchingR. Gayathri, P. RamamoorthyProblem statement: Biometrics based personal identification is as an effective method for automatically recognizing, a person’s identity with high confidence. Palmprint is an essential biometric feature for use in access control and forensic applications. In this study, we present a multi feature extraction, based on edge detection scheme, applying Log Gabor filter to enhance image structures and suppress noise. Approach: … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 2 Mar 2012 · 6,717 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSRBIR: Semantic Region Based Image Retrieval by Extracting the Dominant Region and Semantic LearningI. Felci Rajam, S. ValliProblem statement: The Semantic Region Based Image Retrieval (SRBIR) system that automatically segments the dominant foreground region, consisting of the semantic concept of the image, such as elephants, roses and does the semantic learning, is proposed. Approach: The system segments an image into different regions and finds the dominant foreground region in it, which is the semantic concept of that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 7 Mar 2011 · 7,029 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIdentification of Pecan Weevils through Image ProcessingS.M. Al-Saqer, P. Weckler, J. Solie et al.Abstract: Problem Statement: Pecan weevil is one of the most destructive pests of Oklahoma. The scope of this study is to develop a recognition system that can serve in a wireless imaging network for monitoring pecan weevils. Approach: The recognition methods used in this study are based on template matching. Five recognition methods were implemented: Normalized cross-correlation, Fourier descriptors, Zernike … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 1 · 15 Dec 2010 · 8,776 accessesView PDF Cite

MonadjemiProblem statement: License plate detection and recognition is an image-processing technique used to identify a vehicle by its license plate. This notable technology has got multiple applications in various traffic and security cases. To name but a few, toll roads, border control, security and car tracking are same of its applications. The main stage is the isolation of the license … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,656 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordExtracting Unique Personal Identification Number from IrisNenad Nestorovic, P.W.C. Prasad, Abeer Alsadoon, Amr ElchouemiThe aim of this research is to propose an enhanced model that significantly reduces the noise in the iris templates and thus present an efficient and reliable iris recognition system. Accuracy of Iris recognition system significantly depends on reducing noise at every stage of recognition process especially at eye image acquisition and iris segmentation stages. The proposed Iris recognition model … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 7 · 7 Jul 2017 · 8,136 accessesView PDF Cite
