Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSpatial Color Indexing: An Efficient and Robust Technique for Content-Based Image RetrievalRachid Alaoui, Said Ouatik El Alaoui, Mohammed MeknassiProblem statement: Color Histogram is admitted as a useful representation of features because it is a statistical result and possesses the merits of simplicity, robustness and efficiency. However, the main problem with color histogram indexing is that it doesn't take into account the spatial information. Previous researches have proved that the effectiveness of image retrieval increases when spatial feature of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2009 · 7,425 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEffect of Data Processing on Data QualityA. R. SamihProblem statement: Great attention had been paid on spatial data quality by the scientific community. This was due to the negative impact that a poor spatial data quality had on the competitiveness of an organization. On other hand, we can never obtain good quality data from a poor quality data. In this study, we demonstrate the effects of the different … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,275 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimized Local Ternary Patterns: A New Texture Model with Set of Optimal Patterns for Texture AnalysisG. Madasamy Raja, V. SadasivamTexture analysis is one of the important as well as useful tasks in image processing applications. Many texture models have been developed over the past few years and Local Binary Patterns (LBP) is one of the simple and efficient approach among them. A number of extensions to the LBP method have been also presented but the problem remains challenging in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 22 Jan 2013 · 6,955 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPower Series Solution for a Two-step Reactive-diffusive Equation with Variable Pre-exponential FactorE.A. Adebile, O.K. Koriko, U.S. IdiongWe discussed in this research a power series method for solution of a two-step reactive-diffusive equation with variable pre-exponential factor. A transformation was used to fit in the geometry of the model to allow an asymptotic series expansion which is invoked in a two compartmental regions with respect to the spatial variable. Adequate matching conditions were used at the interface … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2008 · 6,855 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordHybrid Approach for Detection and Recognition of VehiclesK. S. Selvanayaki, Rm. SomaSundaramOn road vehicles have increased in numbers and monitoring them is a challenging task. In common areas of public crowd people and vehicles are common objects for monitoring. The proposed system aims at detecting number plate information indicating the possibility for security relevant issues. Existing system performs recognition mainly by using license plate alone. Addition of the features (logo, colour, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 2 · 6 Sep 2014 · 7,436 accessesView PDF Cite
