Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEvaluation Metrics for Wireless Sensor Network Security: Algorithms Review and Software ToolQasem Abu Al-Haija, Mohamed H. Shwehdi, Muhammad BanatWireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is currently receiving a significant attention due to their potential impact into several real life applications such as military and home automation technology. The work in this study is a complementary part of what’s discussed. In this study, we propose a software tool to simulate and evaluate the six evaluation metrics presented for non-deterministic wireless sensor … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 27 May 2013 · 7,348 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsLow Cost Test Bench to Assess Energy Efficiency of Communications Network EquipmentLuiz Henrique Biazotto, Alexandre de Assis Mota, Lia Toledo Moreira MotaCommunication network Quality of Service (QoS) degradation can lead to the consumption of additional energy to exchange information than that needed in normal conditions. If such behavior is known, network management can be more efficient and accurate, permitting to control more efficiently the energy consumption in telecommunication equipments. This study describes a test bench that can simultaneously measure the QoS … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 20 Sep 2012 · 6,678 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsModelling of Digital Assisted Backend Correction Analogue to Digital Converters with Verilog-AGong Yuehong, Luo Min, Ma JianguoProblem statement: Pipelined architecture is considered to be the most suitable for high-speed and high-resolution applications among varies Nyquist Analogue to Digital Converters (ADCs) in nowadays digital signal processing domain. But the pipeline power consumption is growing with the technology scaling. For a pipeline ADC with high speed and high resolution, the fore-end track and hold amplifier and residual amplifier … …Current Research in Nanotechnology, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 3 Sep 2012 · 7,601 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Optimal Path Management Strategy in Mobile Ad Hoc Network Using Fuzzy and Rough Set TheoryP. Seethalakshmi, M. Joseph Auxilius Jude, G. RajendranProblem statement: Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically forms a network. Most of the existing ad-hoc routing algorithms select the shortest path using various resources. However the selected path may not consider all the network parameters and this would result in link instability in the network. The problems with existing methods are … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 15 Oct 2011 · 7,667 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsComposite Pseudo Associative Cache with Victim Cache for Mobile ProcessorsLakshmi Deepika Bobbala, Monobrata Debnath, Byeong Kil LeeProblem statement: Multi-core trends are becoming dominant, creating sophisticated and complicated cache structures. One of the easiest ways to design cache memory for increasing performance is to double the cache size. The big cache size is directly related to the area and power consumption. Especially in mobile processors, simple increase of the cache size may significantly affect its chip area … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 4 Aug 2011 · 7,089 accessesView PDFCite

BalasubramanieProblem statement: In the last few years, the evolution of the mobile networks leads to the query processing in mobile computing an impressive research area. The mobile computing technology needs to offer more and different innovative services as the number of users of the mobiles were increasing. In this regard, this study proposed a new algorithm which increased the performance … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,758 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsOptimal Power Multicast Problem in Wireless Mesh Networks by Using a Hybrid Particle Swarm OptimizationAllam Maalla, Chen Wei, Haitham J. TahaProblem statement: Most mobile nodes in a wireless ad hoc network are powered by energy limited batteries; the limited battery lifetime imposes a constraint on the network performance. Therefore, power consumption of network operations is critical and subject to optimization. Approach: A novel hybrid PSO was proposed for solving the minimum power multicast problem in wireless ad-hoc networks. The MPM … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 6,809 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Effective Location-Based Power Conservation Scheme for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksKhalid Kaabneh, Azmi Halasa, Hussein Al-BahadiliProblem statement: One of the major issues in current reactive routing protocols for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) is the high bandwidth and power consumptions during the routing process. In this study, we proposed and evaluated the performance of an efficient Location-Based Power Conservation (LBPC) scheme for MANETs. Approach: In this scheme, the transmitting node utilized the location-information of the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 6,836 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsLocal Beam Search Algorithm for Power Saving in Clustered Ad-Hoc NetworksA. Zabian, F. Al-KalaniAn ad-Hoc network is an infrastructures network consisting of mobile moving nodes. Every node in network performs as a router or a package forwarder. Energy consumption of network interfaces can be significant. There is a relationship between the transmission power and the distance traveled by a packet, increasing the transmission power increases the reachable area at the cost of high … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2008 · 6,539 accessesView PDFCite
