Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleHybrid Soft Voting Ensemble of XGBoost and DNN for At-Risk Student Performance PredictionEugene Wan, Po Chan Chiu, Mohammad bin Hossin et al.Early identification of at-risk students in higher education is important for timely academic intervention, yet conventional prediction methods often struggle with data imbalance and limited model precision. This study proposes a hybrid soft voting ensemble model that integrates Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) and Deep Neural Network (DNN) to enhance multi-class student grade prediction (A-F classification) and at-risk student identification. This … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 5 · 28 May 2026 · 1,390 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFinancing College Through Student Loans: An Incentive for Academic Performance?Gunnar B˚ardsen, Snorre Lindset, Peter ReschStudent debt in the United States has reached unprecedented levels. Whereas student loans have paved the way to a college degree for millions of young Americans, it is not clear if student debt acts an incentive for academic performance or not. Using the results from a survey conducted with 877 undergraduate business students in a large public university in the … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 19, Issue 1 · 24 Aug 2023 · 8,127 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficiency Management System as a Tool to Monitor Lecturer’s PerformanceYimer Amedie Muhie, Abeselom Befekadu Wolde, Cheru Haile TesfayMonitoring the actual performance of lecturers is a challenging task in higher education institution, especially in developing countries. Lecturer’s academic performance have been appraised using different parameters in Assosa University, Ethiopia. Mandatorily, lecturers are evaluated using printed check list. For the last few years we observed that, the lecturer efficiency score is found on the shelf and not checked by … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 11 · 7 Nov 2020 · 7,192 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Novel Method to Predict Processor Performance by Modeling Different Architecture ParametersJoseph IssaPredicting processor throughput and performance is one of the essential aspects of computer architecture. It is crucial to model processor performance behavior for future architectures based on the existing data set. Modeling processor performance for a given workload enables architects to enhance processor features to meet specific performance targets for a given benchmark. Developing an estimation method to predict performance … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 4 · 22 Apr 2020 · 7,317 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEffects of Dietary Isoleucine Supplementation on the Growth Performance, Carcass Characteristics and Ileal Morphology of Native ChickensCharles Venirius Lisnahan, Oktovianus Rafael Nahak, Lukas PardosiThe roles of isoleucine in the protein synthesis, metabolisms, and growth of chicken have been widely reported. However, its effect on native chicken has not been previously reported. In this work, we reported the effects of dietary isoleucine supplementation on growth performance, carcass characteristics, and ileal morphology in native chickens during the grower phase (6-12 weeks). Two hundred native chickens … …OnLine Journal of Biological Sciences, Vol. 25, Issue 2 · 21 Jun 2025 · 2,940 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEffectiveness of Business Practices Related to Climate Change as a Driver for Improving Environmental PerformanceNaciti Valeria, Centorrino GiovannaThis study explores the relationship between business practices related to climate change and environmental performance. Using an international sample of analysis from 2013 to 2017, the paper examines how managerial incentives, public policy, disclosure, and responsibilities to executives on climate change, as corporate governance factors, affect a firm's environmental performance. By employing several regression analyses, our independent variables-incentives, public policy, … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 19, Issue 1 · 7 Feb 2022 · 6,787 accessesView PDFCite
