Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAbout Boeing X-32Relly Victoria Virgil PetrescuThe Boeing X-32 is a demonstration jet designed for the Joint Strike Fighter contest. He lost the Lockheed Martin X-35 demonstrator, which was further developed in the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II. Boeing's competitive advantage has been to provide considerably lower costs of production and lifecycle by minimizing variations between different versions of the JSF. Therefore, the X-32 was designed … …Journal of Aircraft and Spacecraft Technology, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 1 Apr 2019 · 9,960 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSoft Sensor Modeling of Product Concentration in Glutamate Fermentation using Gaussian Process RegressionRongjian Zheng, Feng PanThe on-line control of glutamate fermentation process is difficult, owing to the typical uncertainties of biochemical process and the lack of suitable on-line sensors for primary process variables. A prediction model based on Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) is presented to predict glutamate concentration online. First, Partial Least Squares (PLS) is applied to extract the features of the input secondary variables … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 12, Issue 3 · 17 Sep 2016 · 7,663 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractClassification of Breast Tumor in Mammogram Images Using Unsupervised Feature LearningAidarus M. Ibrahim, Baharum Baharudin, Abas Md Said, P. N. HashimahIn this study, we propose a learning-based approach using feature learning to minimize the manual effort required to extract features. Firstly, we extracted features from equally spaced sub-patches covering the input Region of Interest (ROI). The dimensionality of the extracted features is reduced using max-pooling. Furthermore, spherical k-means clustering coupled with max pooling (k-means-max pooling) is compared with well-known feature … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 5 · 13 May 2016 · 7,497 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSPEECH/MUSIC CLASSIFICATION USING WAVELET BASED FEATURE EXTRACTION TECHNIQUESThiruvengatanadhan Ramalingam, P. DhanalakshmiAudio classification serves as the fundamental step towards the rapid growth in audio data volume. Due to the increasing size of the multimedia sources speech and music classification is one of the most important issues for multimedia information retrieval. In this work a speech/music discrimination system is developed which utilizes the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) as the acoustic feature. Multi … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 1 · 8 Nov 2013 · 6,841 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIMPROVING INDEPENDENT COMPONENT ANALYSIS USING SUPPORT VECTOR MACHINES FOR MULTIMODAL IMAGE FUSIOND. Egfin Nirmala, A. Bibin Sam Paul, V. VaidehiThe objective of this study is to combine multiple images of a scene acquired by different sensors to create a new image with all important information from the input images. Recent studies show that bases trained using Independent Component Analysis (ICA) is effective in multisensor fusion and has improved performance over traditional wavelet approaches. In the ICA based fusion, the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 7,272 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA robust Approach to Classify Microcalcification in Digital Mammograms Using Contourlet Transform and Support Vector MachineJ. S. Leena Jasmine, S. Baskaran, A. GovardhanMammogram is the best available radiographic method to detect breast cancer in the early stage. However detecting a microcalcification clusters in the early stage is a tough task for the radiologist. Herein we present a novel approach for classifying microcalcification in digital mammograms using Nonsubsampled Contourlet Transform (NSCT) and Support Vector Machine (SVM). The classification of microcalcification is achieved by … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 1 · 28 Feb 2013 · 7,856 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSupport Vector Machine Based Red Palm Weevil (Rynchophorus Ferrugineous, Olivier) Recognition SystemGhulam Mubashar Hassan, Saleh Mufleh Al-SaqerProblem statement: Red palm weevil (Rynchophorus Ferrugineous, Oliveir) is an insect which threatens the existence of palm trees. The proposed research is to develop a RPW identification system using Support Vector Machine method. The problem is to extract image features from an image and using SVM to find out the existence of RPW in an image. Approach: Images are snapped … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 24 Jan 2012 · 7,734 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPecan Weevil Recognition Using Support Vector Machine MethodGhulam Mubashar Hassan, Saleh Mufleh Al-SaqerProblem statement: The Pecan weevil was considered as the most dangerous pest of Pecan fruits. The aim of this research is to evaluate Support Vector Machine method (SVM) for identifying Pecan Weevil among other insects. Eventually, this recognition system will serve in a wireless imaging network for monitoring Pecan Weevils. Approach: SVM has been evaluated using two different kernel functions … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 4 · 24 Dec 2011 · 7,926 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractContent Based Image Retrieval using Novel Gaussian Fuzzy Feed Forward-Neural NetworkC. Ramesh Babu Durai, V. DuraisamyProblem statement: With extensive digitization of images, diagrams and paintings, traditional keyword based search has been found to be inefficient for retrieval of the required data. Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system responds to image queries as input and relies on image content, using techniques from computer vision and image processing to interpret and understand it, while using techniques from information … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 7 · 28 Jun 2011 · 7,326 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractError Vector Normalized Adaptive Algorithm Applied to Adaptive Noise Canceller and System IdentificationZayed RamadanProblem statement: This study introduced a variable step-size Least Mean-Square (LMS) algorithm in which the step-size is dependent on the Euclidian vector norm of the system output error. The error vector includes the last L values of the error, where L is a parameter to be chosen properly together with other parameters in the proposed algorithm to achieve a trade-off … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 5 Nov 2010 · 8,208 accessesView PDFCite
