Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMobility Management for Seamless Information Flow in a Heterogeneous NetworksAdiline Macriga, AnandhakumarProblem statement: In the heterogeneous networks, generally the entire networks operating on the Radio Frequencies under wireless mode available for communication are brought under a single head based on their common operating procedures and functions. As a common mode the basic functions of the networks are requesting, tracing, sending, acknowledging, authenticating, authorizing, receiving, updating, forwarding, controlling, registering, managing. As the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 6,891 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Quantitative Study on Japanese Workers' Awareness to Information Security Using the Data Collected by Web-Based SurveyToshihiko TakemuraProblem statement: The researches in the field of social sciences such as economics and business management were not conducted until around 2000. Particularly, there are few empirical studies on information security. Primary reasons among various ones are that there is no data on information security countermeasures and we cannot easily use the data even if the data exist. Though it … …American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,862 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMPLS Based Architecture for Mobility and End-to-End QoS Support in Fourth Generation Mobile NetworksAlejandro Quintero, Eduardo Del FrutosProblem statement: Next-generation mobile networks are evolving towards network architectures relying entirely on IP. Approach: These networks had to be scalable in order to support future IP traffic, namely new multimedia services and real time applications, while providing an effective mobility management mechanism to cope with increasingly mobile users. In addition to global connectivity, next-generation mobile networks will have to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2009 · 7,691 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Evaluation of Implementing Calls Prioritization with Different Queuing Disciplines in Mobile Wireless NetworksSalman A. AlQahtani, Nasser-Eddine RikliIt is known that efficient call handling mechanisms can greatly improve cellular network performance. One way to improve system performance of cellular network is to use efficient handover schemes when users changes between cells. This paper focuses on the performance evaluation of originating and handover calls prioritization using different queue size and discipline. Both calls will be queued until they … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 5 · 31 May 2006 · 6,472 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractComparative Performance Analysis of Mobile IPv6 Protocols: Special Reference to Simultaneous BindingsShariq Haseeb, Ahmad F. IsmailMobile IP is the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) proposal to cater for All-Internet Protocol (All-IP) mobility. It forms the backbone for next generation Wireless Internet Technology to provide uninterrupted network service while on the move. Our paper conducts a performance study of the various Mobile Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) protocols such as Simple Mobile IPv6, Hierarchical Mobile IPv6, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2006 · 7,867 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Variable Neighborhood Search Algorithm for Assigning Cells to Switches in Wireless NetworksMatthieu Andr, Gilles Pesant, Samuel PierreThe problem of assigning cells to switches in wireless networks consists of minimizing the total operating cost, that is, the cost of linking cells to switches and the cost of handover from one cell to another, by taking into account factors such as network topology, switch capacity and traffic load in the entire network. Such a problem is well known … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2005 · 6,753 accessesView PDF Cite
