Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsTemperature Effect on Uncooled Semiconductor Laser Diode to the Network Performance SystemMohammad Syuhaimi Ab-Rahman, Nurain Izzati ShuhaimiProblem statement: The characteristics of a laser diode are highly dependent on the temperature of the laser chip. Thus, the effect of temperature on the network performance of uncooled semiconductor laser diode are studied by simulating its equivalent electrical circuit, developed from the rate equations that governing optical components directly into an electrical simulation framework. Approach: The simulations are carried … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 8 Feb 2012 · 6,621 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsCredit Market Development and Economic Growth an Empirical Analysis for United KingdomAthanasios Vazakidis, Antonios AdamopoulosProblem statement: This study investigated the causal relationship between credit market development and economic growth for UK for the period 1975-2007 using a Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). Questions were raised whether economic growth spurs credit market development taking into account the negative effect of inflation rate on credit market development. This study aimed to investigate the short-run and the … …American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, Vol. 3, Issue 3 · 29 Nov 2011 · 7,238 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Efficient Implementation of Weighted Fuzzy Fisherface Algorithm for Face Recognition Using Wavelet TransformEsther Annlin Kala James, S. AnnaduraiProblem statement: The paper addresses the face recognition problem by proposing Weighted Fuzzy Fisherface (WFF) technique using biorthogonal transformation. The weighted fuzzy fisherface technique was an extension of Fisher Face technique by introducing fuzzy class membership to each training sample in calculating the scatter matrices. Approach: In weighted fuzzy fisherface method, weight emphasizes classes that were close together and deemphasizes … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 26 Oct 2011 · 7,345 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEfficient Multimodal Biometric Authentication Using Fast Fingerprint Verification and Enhanced Iris FeaturesA. Jameer Basha, V. Palanisamy, T. PurusothamanProblem statement: The accuracy of biometric systems varies with the kind of biometric feature used in it. The Unmoral biometric system is prone to interclass variations. Approach: We implement Multimodal biometric systems to overcome the limitations by using multiple pieces of evidence of the same identity. However, the multimodal biometric system is limited to the time constraints due to its … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 7,619 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAnalytical Modeling of IEEE 802.11e Enhanced Distributed Channel Access under a Non-Saturation ConditionG. Prakash, P. ThangarajProblem statement: The IEEE 802.11e EDCA protocol with different access Categories (ACs) supporting for Quality-of-Service (QoS). Due to internal or external packet collision, the Contention Window (CW) of the station increases the channel idle time under high Bit Error Rate (BER). Approach: In this study, we propose an analytical model for performance evaluation of IEEE 802.11e EDCA scheme under non-saturation … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 4 Apr 2011 · 7,095 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsInterference Mitigation in IEEE 802.15.4-A Cluster Based Scheduling ApproachG. M. Tamilselvan, A. ShanmugamProblem statement: In universal networking environments; two or more heterogeneous communication systems coexisting in a single place. Especially, Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) based on IEEE 802.11b specifications and Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) based on IEEE 802.15.4 specifications need to coexist in the same Industrial, Science and Medial (ISM) band.
