Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSurvey on Mobile Ad Hoc Network Attacks and Mitigation Using Routing ProtocolsS. P. Manikandan, R. ManimegalaiMobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) due to its unpredictable topology and bandwidth limitations are vulnerable to attacks. Establishing security measures and finding secure routes are the major challenges faced by MANET. Security issues faced by ad hoc networks are node authentication, insider attack and intrusion detection. Implementing security measures is challenging due to the presence of limited resources in the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 11 · 1 Sep 2012 · 6,851 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsReliable and Efficient Broadcasting in Asymmetric Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Minimized Forward Node List AlgorithmMarimuthu Murugesan, Ammasai KrishnanProblem statement: Network wide broadcasting is a fundamental operation in ad hoc networks. In broadcasting, a source node sends a message to all the other nodes in the network. Unlike in a wired network, a packet transmitted by a node in ad hoc wireless network can reach all neighbors. Therefore, the total number of transmissions (Forwarding nodes) used as the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 27 Dec 2010 · 7,577 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA New Distance Based Route Maintenance Strategy for Dynamic Source Routing ProtocolMuhammad F. Sjaugi, Mohamed Othman, Mohd. Fadlee A. RasidAlthough DSR can respond a route quickly, it yields a long delay when a route is rebuilt. This is because when source node receives RERR packet, it will try to find alternative routes from the route cache. If alternative routes are not available, the source node, then, will enter route discovery phase to find new routes. We introduced a new … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2008 · 8,314 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsTopology Discovering and Power saving Mechanism for Routing in a Tree of Ad-hoc Wireless NetworksArwa ZabianPower management in mobile network is an open challenges where the power level in the network influences the network life time. However, there are a trade off between the power consumption and the connectivity in mobile networks. We present a topology control mechanism and a routing protocol for Ad-Hoc wireless networks that chooses the shortest path given the lower power … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2007 · 6,550 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Intrusion Detection Framework for MEC-Enabled IoT NetworksRofaida Tawfik, Abdelfattah Hegazy, Hesham Dahshan, Ahmed Gaber AbuabdallahMobile Edge Computing (MEC) has emerged as a promising paradigm for supporting latency-sensitive Internet of Things (IoT) applications by bringing computational resources closer to data sources. However, the distributed nature of MEC environments increases exposure to network-based security threats, particularly network intrusions that can impact both system reliability and task offloading efficiency. This paper proposes a security-aware framework that integrates … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 4 · 1 Apr 2026 · 1,921 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHybrid Optimization to Trust Enhanced Secure Routing Optimization with IABC and CGWAA for MANETYuvaraja Panneer Selvam, Suganthi PerumalRouting in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) presents significant challenges due to the dynamic nature of network topology. Optimal route selection and efficient route discovery are matched by effective routing in MANET. This study proposes a Hybrid Optimization to Trust-Enhanced Secure Routing Optimization (HO-TESRO) designed to address these challenges in IoT environments by integrating metrics such as link stability, bandwidth, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 4 · 19 Mar 2025 · 4,983 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractComparative Study of Two Reactive Routing Protocols with Realistic Mobility ModelJohn Tengviel, Agyemang SylvesterA Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) are dynamic wireless networks that can be formed without the need for any existing infrastructure in which each node can act as a host as well as a router. One of the main challenges of MANETs is the design of robust routing protocols that adapt to the frequent and randomly changing network topology. A variety … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 4 · 21 Dec 2020 · 6,231 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSocialMANET: A Publish/Subscribe Events Dissemination Protocol for Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksMaurice Tchoupé Tchendji, Martin Xavier Tchembé, Innocent Tialo NecheuThe popularization of mobile equipment capable of communicating autonomously nowadays offers the possibility of thinking more seriously about a mode of communication in which stakeholders communicate in an ad-hoc manner and use mobility to convey information. However, due to their mobile nature, such equipments are limited by their low energy and storage capacity. Algorithms designed for them must therefore be … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 9 · 3 Sep 2019 · 7,681 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDeveloping a Prototype for Sun Tracker System Based on IoT: Controlled by Mobile App and Online Database MonitoringIsmail Ismail Yusuf Panessai, Muhammad Modi bin Lakulu, Siva Kumar A/L Subramaniam et al.IoT (Internet of Things) has become a separate research field since the development of internet technology and other communication media. IoT optimizes several tools such as sensor media radio frequency identification, wireless sensor networks and other smart objects that allow humans to easily interact with all devices connected to the internet network. Research NotesOpen accessIn the abstractA Comprehensive Study on Mobility Issues in AODVThiripurasundari SivakrishnakumarAd-hoc network plays an important role in wireless networks as they are self-configured and can be operated independently with limited resources. The critical issue is to assess the performance of routing protocols in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) due to the frequent changes in network topology. Here the Ad-hoc On demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol, which is quite susceptible … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 10 · 2 Jan 2016 · 6,722 accessesView PDFCite
