Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractWirelesshd Video Transmission Over Multicarrier Error-CorrectionchannelsMohamed Khedr, Maha SharkasUncompressed High-Definition video streaming over extremely high frequency using wireless technologies, also known as WirelessHD, is a challenge problem because of the high data rate requirement and channel variations. The advantages in RF technology and the huge bandwidth available in the 57-66 GHZ millimeter wave open new era for High Definition applications and high data rates communication. Retransmission is not … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 6 Nov 2012 · 6,582 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Fuzzy Logic Based Power Control for Wideband Code Division Multiple Access Wireless NetworksN. Mohan, T. RavichandranProblem statement: Resource management is one of the most important engineering issues in 3G systems where multiple traffic classes are supported each being characterized by its required Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. Call Admission Control (CAC) is one of the resource management functions, which regulates network access to ensure QoS provisioning. Efficient CAC is necessary for the QoS provisioning in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 4 Aug 2012 · 6,755 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSpeech Compression of Thai Dialects with Low-Bit-Rate Speech CodersSuphattharachai ChomphanProblem statement: In modern speech communication at low bit rate, speech coding deteriorates the characteristics of the coded speech significantly. Considering the dialects in Thai, the coding quality of four main dialects spoken by Thai people residing in four core region including central, north, northeast and south regions has not been studied. Approach: This study presents a comparative study of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 14 Jul 2012 · 6,865 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAdaptive Channel Estimation for Multiuser Underwater Communication SystemsS. Aliesawi, C. C. Tsimenidis, B. S. Sharif, M. JohnstonProblem statement: Multiple Access Interference (MAI) signals and poor estimation of the unknown channel parameters in the presence of limited training sequences are two of the major problems that degrade the systems’ performance. Two synchronous multiuser receivers with Rake reception of Interleave Division Multiple Access (IDMA) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems, in conjunction with channel estimation, are considered … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 20 Feb 2012 · 7,355 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Analysis on 16-Channels Wavelength Division Multiplexing in Free Space Optical Transmission under Tropical Regions EnvironmentSalasiah Hitam, Siti Norziela Suhaimi, Ahmad Shukri Mohd Noor et al.Problem statement: Wavelength-Division-Multiplexing (WDM) is a promising technique for meeting the growing demand for increased bandwidth and various types of services in the optical access network. For wide area or metropolitan networks, fibers are deployed to provide huge bandwidth. In access networks, the fiber-to-the-home will partially solve the last mile problem. However, some environmentally sensitive area such as housing areas, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 2 Nov 2011 · 10,358 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAnalysis of Fundamental Frequency Contour of Coded Speech Based on Multi-Pulse Based Code Excited Linear Prediction AlgorithmSuphattharachai ChomphanProblem statement: In low-bit-rate speech communication, speech coding deteriorates the characteristics of the coded speech significantly. An important feature of the speech is the fundamental frequency contour which determines the pitch information of the speech. It has been known that pitch information is one of the core parameter of the multi-pulse based code excited linear prediction (MPCELP) speech coder. Therefore … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,459 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Analysis of IEEE 802.16d using Forward Error CorrectionVenkatesh Sekar, V. Palanisamy, K. BaskaranProblem statement: Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access is the broadband wireless technology for terrestrial broadcast services in Metropolitan Area Networks. This BWA technology is based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) technology and considers the radio frequency range up to 2-11 GHz and 10-66 GHz. The objective of this research work is the performance analysis of AWGN, SUI-1 and SUI-2 … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 9 Mar 2011 · 7,336 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUnequally Error Protected Wireless Data Transmission Using Channel State Information and Adaptive EncodersYaseen H. Tahir, Chee Kyun Ng, N. K. Noordin et al.Problem statement: Higher data transmission rate with Quality of Services (QoS) guarantee is an important objective for wireless broadband communication systems. Unlike other communication system, real-time transmission requires high data rate and good error performance to ensure good quality of service.
