Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDamping of Generator Oscillations Using an Adaptive UPFC-based ControllerD. Nazarpour, S. H. Hosseini, G. B. GharehpetianIn this study a UPFC-based non-linear adaptive controller is proposed and designed to damp generator oscillations. The adaptive controller design is based on determination of control signal using a new linear quadratic pole placement control law and identification of power system parameters with recursive least squares method with adaptive directional forgetting factor. A new model of UPFC has been introduced … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2006 · 6,764 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleHuman Synergy Based Analysis to Control of Rehabilitation Robot for Adaptive AssistanceGyanendra Nath TripathiAdaptive assistance is needed to support mobility of disabled person due to weakened muscles and loss of joint control. Assistive robot requires coordinated motion trajectory of its joint, similar to human joint trajectory. A robot trajectory planning mechanism, based on comparative analysis between robot trajectory and human joint trajectory data is important to find coordinated trajectory for assistive robot joint. … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 8 Oct 2025 · 3,052 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleExperimental Evaluation of Adaptive Step-Size Based FxLMS Approach for Active Noise Control in Magnetic Resonance Imaging SystemsI. Juvanna, Uppu Ramachandraiah, G. Muthukumaran et al.Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners emit up to 135 decibels of acoustic noise, which is a major source of discomfort for patients and personnel evaluating them during routine medical scans, necessitating the development of a method to reduce the acoustic noise generated during MRI testing. The goal of this study is to propose a frequency-domain Active Noise Control (ANC) method … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 18, Issue 12 · 24 Nov 2022 · 5,503 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleApplication of Adaptive Predictive Control to a Newborn IncubatorMed Aymen Zermani, Elyes Feki, Abdelkader MamiProblem statement: This study presents an application of Indirect Adaptive Generalized Predictive Control (IAGPC) of an incubator for newborn, in order to improve the performance of temperature control. Approach: Analysis of physical phenomena of incubator was involved together knowledge of the dynamic behavior. Incubator was identified by means of Recursive Least Square (RLS) technique associated with a projection of the … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 13 Jul 2011 · 8,242 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleProgrammable System on Chip Distributed Communication and Control Approach for Human Adaptive Mechanical SystemAhmad ‘Athif Mohd Faudzi, Koichi SuzumoriProblem statement: Communication and control are two main components in any Mechatronics system. They can be designed either by centralized or decentralized approach. Both approaches can be chosen based on application designed and specific requirements of the designer. In this study, decentralized or normally called distributed approach was selected to solved communication and control of a human adaptive mechanical system … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 6,733 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleImproved Coupled Tank Liquid Levels System Based on Swarm Adaptive Tuning of Hybrid Proportional-Integral Neural Network ControllerM.S. Ramli, RM.T. Raja Ismail, M.A. Ahmad et al.Problem statement: Accuracy and stability of many systems in chemical and process industries which has Two-Input Two-Output (TITO) is one of the key factors of process which have cross coupling between process input and output. Approach: Unlike traditional neural network weight adaptation using gradient descent method, Particles Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique was utilized for adaptive tuning of neural network weights … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,822 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Channel Adaptive Energy Efficient and Fair Scheduling Media Access Control Protocol for Mobile AdHoc NetworksP. Priakanth, P. ThangarajProblem statement: A major drawback in the existing protocols in dealing with energy management issues is that the time varying nature of the wireless channels among the ad hoc nodes is ignored. Approach: This study proposed a channel adaptive energy efficient Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol, for efficient packets scheduling and queuing in an ad hoc network, with time varying … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2009 · 7,556 accessesView PDFCite
