Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCongestion Control in Wireless Ad Hoc Networks by Enhancement of Transmission Control ProtocolN. Premalatha, A. M. NatarajanProblem statement: Transmission Control Protocol is the Internet’s most widely used transport control protocol. TCP’s strength lies in the adaptive nature of its congestion avoidance and control algorithm and its retransmission mechanism. In TCP Vegas rerouting (a path), which change the propagation delay of the connection and this may be able to result in a substantial decrease in through put. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 17 Oct 2011 · 6,688 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIntegrated Metric-Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector: A Routing Protocol over Wireless Mesh NetworksMd. Arafatur Rahman, Farhat Anwar, Md. Saiful AzadProblem statement: Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) is an emerging technology for wireless environment. Since WMNs are permanent or semi-permanent network, an efficient and reliable path establishment is the core concern for such type of networks. Several performance metrics has been designed for WMNs such as Expected Transmission Count (ETX), Expected Transmission Time (ETT), interference Aware Routing Metric (iAWARE), Link Type … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2009 · 7,493 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleTopology Discovering and Power saving Mechanism for Routing in a Tree of Ad-hoc Wireless NetworksArwa ZabianPower management in mobile network is an open challenges where the power level in the network influences the network life time. However, there are a trade off between the power consumption and the connectivity in mobile networks. We present a topology control mechanism and a routing protocol for Ad-Hoc wireless networks that chooses the shortest path given the lower power … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2007 · 6,550 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAd Hoc Mobile Wireless Networks Routing Protocols - A ReviewGeetha Jayakumar, G. GopinathMobile ad hoc networks(MANET) represent complex distributed systems that comprise wireless mobile nodes that can freely and dynamically self organize into arbitrary and temporary ad-hoc network topologies, allowing people and devices to seamlessly internet work in areas with no preexisting communication infrastructure e.g., disaster recovery environments. An ad-hoc network is not a new one, having been around in various forms … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2007 · 115,241 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDensity Based Routing Algorithm for Spare/Dense Topologies in Wireless Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksEssam Natsheh, Khalid BuraggaProblem statement: A Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) operate in environments without infrastructures with an undefined network size. Most routing protocols of Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) were studied using open space models where nodes were able to move throughput the entire simulation area. However, a more realistic topology should account for restricted mobility of nodes, such as in an urban city … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2010 · 7,461 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleBluetooth Wireless Monitoring, Managing and Control for Inter Vehicle in Vehicular Ad-Hoc NetworksHelia Mamdouhi, Sabira Khatun, Javad ZarrinProblem statement: The car users expect more and more accessories available in their cars, but the accessories available needed manage by driver manually and not properly manage by smart system. All these accessories are able to control by user manually using different and standalone controllers. Besides, the controller itself uses RF technology which is not existed in mobile devices. So … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 8,978 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsUsing Wireless Networks and Internet of Things for Enhanced Monitoring of Students During Virtual ClassSulaiman Abdullah AlateyahThe entire educational model has undergone a significant change as a result of the Internet of Things (IoT)'s introduction to the educational sector. Universities have a significant chance to take advantage of the IoT technology in a variety of ways, including data collection and analysis to improve the educational experience, promote the achievement of learning objectives, and enhance overall school … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 6 · 15 Mar 2024 · 5,195 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Novel Unique Node Based Clustering and Location-Key Pair Based Security for Wireless NetworksT. R. Vedhavathy, M. S.K. ManikandanWireless ad hoc networks are used in emergency situations especially for surveillance and monitoring. The nodes in the ad hoc networks are self-organized and can accommodate by themselves with the available resources. The nodes are capable of random movement and hence there is no fixed infrastructure. The purpose of the ad hoc networks can be fulfilled only if all nodes … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 23 Apr 2015 · 6,430 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Framework for Group Key Management Protocol Assessment Independent of View SynchronyDavid Manz, Paul Oman, Jim Alves-FossProblem statement: As group key management extended into the area of large dynamic networks, complex issues emerged involving the many operations that run over several network topologies. The issues that occurred due to multiple topologies were also compounded by differing views of the network, taken at different time slices or positions within the network. This was especially complex when figuring … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 6,942 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsRandom Graph Generation Based p-Method and Box Method for the Evaluation of Power-Aware Routing Protocols of Ad hoc NetworksSaleh H. Al-SharaehThe objective of this paper is to investigate the best solution such that on which decision should be made to forward a wireless packet. The decision should be made in such a way to keep the node alive by choosing an alternate path, through those nodes that have more power reserve. Minimizing the consumption of the reserve power will results … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2008 · 6,762 accessesView PDFCite
