Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesMachining Performance Study on Metal Matrix Composites-A Response Surface Methodology ApproachA. Srinivasan, R. M. Arunachalam, S. Ramesh, J. S. SenthilkumaarProblem statement: Metal Matrix Composites (MMC) have become a leading material among composite materials and in particular, particle reinforced aluminum MMCs have received considerable attention due to their excellent engineering properties. These materials are known as the difficult-to-machine materials because of the hardness and abrasive nature of reinforcement element-like Alumina (Al2O3). Approach: In this study, an attempt has been made … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 15 Feb 2012 · 8,024 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesMining of Datasets with an Enhanced Apriori AlgorithmS. Nandagopal, V. P. Arunachalam, S. KarthikProblem statement: Classical association rules are mostly mining intra-transaction associations i.e., associations among items within the same transaction where the idea behind the transaction could be the items bought by the same customer on the same day. The goal of inter-transaction association rules is to represent the associations between various events found in different transactions. Approach: In this study, we … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 14 Feb 2012 · 6,961 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesGeographical Division Traceback for Distributed Denial of ServiceA. Viswanathan, V. P. Arunachalam, S. KarthikProblem statement: Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) was a serious threat to the internet world that denies the legitimate users from being access the internet by blocking the service. Approach: In this study, we proposed a novel approach, Geographical Division Traceback (GDT) for efficient IP traceback and DDoS defense methodology. DDoS attack was one of the most serious and threatening … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 23 Nov 2011 · 7,136 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesMulti Directional Geographical Traceback with n Directions GeneralizationS. Karthik, V. P. Arunachalam, T. RavichandranProblem Statement: Denial of Service/Distributed Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks deny regular, internet services from being accessed by legitimate users, either by blocking the services completely, or by disturbing it completely, so as to cause customer baulking. Approach: Several traceback schemes were available to mitigate these attacks. Directional geographical traceback8 (DGT8), directional geographical trackback scheme, with 8 directions was one … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 7,013 accessesView PDF Cite
