Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractBlockchain: Methods, Applications and Technology ProgressCheryl Ann Alexander, Lidong WangBlockchain is gaining great attentions in various applications. Blockchain is a shared ledger concept which is highly secure due to the nature of its construction. It is immutable, needs a consensus to add a block to the chain, is held secure by a hash function and is visible to all participants within the blockchain. The methods, impacts and benefits of … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 1 · 2 Feb 2019 · 8,448 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractManagement of Effective Factors in Components’ Supply Chain on Losses of Electric Distribution SystemM. Esmaeil Honarmand, M. Sadegh Ghazizadeh, Ali KermanshahRestructuring in the electrical distribution utilities, the loss management is one of the critical activities to enhance network efficiency. Accordingly, management of technical loss would be the main target of the asset managers. For loss management, the usual methods of loss calculation and estimation need numerous data which is not used to real networks. In this research, a practical method … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 15, Issue 4 · 21 Apr 2018 · 7,556 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimizing an E-Waste Reverse Supply Chain Model while Incorporating Risk CostsLinh Thi Truc Doan, Yousef Amer, Sang- Heon Lee, Phan Nguyen Ky PhucThe rapid growth of Electronic Waste (E-waste) in recent years has created serious influences on the environment and society. The highly potential solution to mitigate this issue is the Reverse Supply Chain (RSC) which can reuse and recover E-waste materials. Risks generally derive from a RSC operation such as collection, transportation and treatment risks, but most studies ignore risk effects … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 4 · 24 Nov 2017 · 7,981 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstract“OPTIMIZATION OF MULTI-COMMODITIES CONSUMER SUPPLY CHAINS FOR-PART I-MODELING”Zeinab Haji Abolhasani, Romeo M. Marian, Lee LoungThis study and its companions (Part II, Part III) will concentrate on optimizing a class of supply chain problems known as Multi-Commodities Consumer Supply Chain (MCCSC) problem. MCCSC problem belongs to Production-Distribution (P-D) planning category. It aims to determine facilities location, consumers’ allocation and facilities configuration to minimize total Cost (CT) of the entire network. These facilities can be manufacturer … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 26 Nov 2013 · 7,852 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Model for Securing Sharing Information Across the Supply ChainMalihe Manzouri, Mohd Nizam Ab Rahman, Farshad Nasimi, Haslina ArshadSupply Chain Management (SCM) is impacted by information technology both directly or indirectly. Sharing information across the supply chain not only supports internal operations but also collaboration among supply partners. So, securing information has a critical role in creating confidence in organizations to share their data across the supply chain. Purpose of this study is to propose an appropriate model … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 18 Mar 2013 · 6,720 accessesView PDFCite

This study surveys the state-of-the-art on Wireless Body Area Networks, discussing the major components of research in this area including physiological sensing and preprocessing, WBASNs … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 1 Nov 2011 · 9,159 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThe Practices of Contract Farming Among Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Suppliers in MalaysiaNorsida Man, Nolila Mohd NawiProblem statement: Contract Farming (CF) concept is an agreement between buyers and producers, where by producers agree to produce and supply agriculture products according to the agreed quantity, quality, variety, grade, type of packaging and time of delivery. The two parties will mutually agree on the pricing of product, either on a contract price or a market price. Therefore, CF … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2010 · 9,996 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAI-Integrated Probabilistic Optimization for Inventory Control Under Stochastic DemandJanardan BeheraThe identification and operationalization of increasingly nonstationary and volatile demand patterns challenge the conduct of inventory management in contemporary supply chains. The classical models, especially EOQ and static policies, rest on the stability of demand assumptions, either deterministically or distributionally, and are hence less apt under real-world uncertainty. In view of these limitations, the present study puts forward an integrated … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 22, Issue 1 · 6 May 2026 · 2,227 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordComputer Vision for Reducing Food Waste in an Institutional Canteen: A Literature Review and Performance AnalysisAna Correia, Clara Aidos, João M. L. P. Caldeira et al.Food waste in today's society has been the subject of growing interest and discussion, given its economic, environmental, social, and nutritional implications. Although food waste is present throughout the food supply chain, in developed countries it tends to be higher in the final stages of consumption (e.g., households and food services). This study focuses on institutional canteens, where food waste … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 4 · 10 Mar 2025 · 6,345 accessesView PDFCite
