Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsHydroelectric Power Generation from Reservoirs in Savannah River BasinTravis Michael Yates, Abdul Aziz KhanHydropower is generated from three reservoirs in the United States Army Corps of Engineers's Savannah District. These reservoirs include J. Strom Thurmond, Richard B. Russell, and Hartwell. Currently, a contract in place specifies that a certain amount of energy must be provided to the region. Analysis of 25 years of operational data has shown that a 90% reliable yield is … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 17, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2024 · 5,090 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsPower Saving Mechanism in Clustered Ad-Hoc NetworksArwa Zabian, Ahmed IbrahimIn wireless Ad-Hoc networks, multihop transmission breaks the single hop path from a mobile node to another, into two or more hops, in a manner that the distances between transmitter and receiver are smaller than that in the direct transmission, which reduces the transmission power significantly. We have proposed the use of graph search algorithms to increase the power remaining … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2008 · 7,117 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimizing Cluster Head Selection Algorithms to Improve Power Efficiency in Agricultural Wireless Sensor NetworksSaed TarapiahThe current research addresses the management of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) with a focus on optimizing power consumption, a critical concern in current research. The study uses agricultural WSNs to monitor farming areas, aiming to enhance decision-making in farm management. The importance of such monitoring systems in the region is emphasized. Previous research highlights clustering as an effective technique for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 4 · 3 Mar 2025 · 4,940 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimization Consumption Power in Internet of Things Technology: A Systematic ReviewNur Yasmin Salleh, Mohd Kamir Yusof, Nur Farraliza MansorThis study reviews algorithms for battery optimization, focusing on estimation methods and State of Charge (SOC) algorithms, which are crucial components of Battery Management Systems (BMS) designed to reduce power consumption. With the increasing global demand for electricity driven by rapid population growth, optimizing energy use has become critical. Accurate estimation of battery capacity is essential for extending battery lifespan … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 3 · 13 Feb 2025 · 7,316 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Systematic Review on Wake-up Radios Applied to Wireless Sensor NetworksMarco Aurélio Spohn, Caetano Mazzoni Ranieri, Agnelo Rocha da Silva, Jó UeyamaWireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are the backbone of many monitoring applications, especially in the Internet of Things (IoT) context. However, efficient power management becomes a critical challenge when sensor nodes rely on disposable batteries. The deployment of WSNs must ensure coverage and connectivity, but the resulting distribution of nodes and underlying protocols directly impact the network’s lifetime. The concept of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 3 · 4 Feb 2025 · 6,201 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCircular Economy Modeling for Waste and Energy Management in A Developing Country: The Case of Greater Beirut AreaAbbas El Toufaili, Dario Pozzetto, Elio Padoano et al.Lebanon's energy system depends largely on imported fuels. Lebanon presented its commitment to increase by 30% its share of Renewable Energies (RE) by 2030. GBA lacks an integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM) system. The waste composition in the Greater Beirut Area (GBA) is made of 52.2% organic waste which can be exploited for the production of green Hydrogen (H2) … …American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Vol. 20, Issue 1 · 22 Nov 2024 · 5,210 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign and Construction of a Smart Meter with Embedded Web PortalDavid Mike-Ewewie, Ayodele Ifijeh, Victoria Oguntosin et al.The absence of the necessary infrastructure to make an accurate and precise collection of data when compared to the first-world countries in the power industry is great. Due to that, the need for the deployment of smart meters has increased in order to offer consumers and customers awareness of their electricity usage, helping them lower their total energy footprint. In … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 8 · 14 Jun 2024 · 5,275 accessesView PDFCite
