Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSpatial Pattern of Natural Spread of Rice False Smut (Ustilaginoidea virens) Disease in FieldsBodrun Nessa, Moin U. Salam, A.H.M. Mahfuzul Haque et al.Pattern of disease spread provides improved knowledge on how the pathogen introduces itself and interacts with environment in fields and expresses as a disease. It is especially significant when epidemiology of a disease, such as Rice False Smut (RFSm), is unclearly understood. Not reported before, this study attempted an analysis of spatial pattern of natural spread of RFSm in nine … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 2 Jun 2015 · 8,644 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRADIUS BASED BLOCK LOCAL BINARY PATTERN ON T-ZONE FACE AREA FOR FACE RECOGNITIONMd. Jan Nordin, Abdul Aziz K. Abdul Hamid, Sumazly Ulaiman, R. U. GobithaasanThis study presents a comparison of recognition performance between feature extraction on the T-Zone face area and Radius based block on the critical point. A T-Zone face image is first divided into small regions where Local Binary Pattern (LBP) histograms are extracted and then concatenated into a single feature vector. This feature vector will further reduce the dimensionality scope by … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 27 Dec 2014 · 7,967 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFREQUENT CORRELATED PERIODIC PATTERN MINING FOR LARGE VOLUME SET USING TIME SERIES DATAG. M. Karthik, S. KarthikFrequent pattern mining has been a widely used in the area of discovering association and correlations among real data sets. However, discovering interesting correlation relationship among huge number of co-occurrence patterns are complicated, a majority of them are superfluous or uninformative. Mining correlations among large pile of useless information is extraordinarily useful in real-time applications. In this study, we propose … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 30 Jun 2014 · 6,608 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCombined Pattern Mining for D3M Using FuzzyS. S. Dhenakaran, S. MaheswariMany algorithms and models were developed but the findings are not actionable and lack of soft power while solving the complex problems. Domain Driven Data mining is used a major efforts to promote the action ability of the knowledge discovery in the real world smart decision making. Combined mining is one of the common methods for analyzing complex data for … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 1 Nov 2013 · 6,750 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFast Algorithms for Discovering Sequential Patterns in Massive DatasetsS. Dharani, Justus Rabi, Nanda Kumar, DarlyProblem statement: Sequential pattern mining is one of the specific data mining tasks, particularly from retail data. The task is to discover all sequential patterns with a user-specified minimum support, where support of a pattern is the number of data-sequences that contain the pattern. Approach: To find a sequence patterns variety of algorithm like AprioriAll and Generalized Sequential Patterns (GSP) … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 9 · 23 Jul 2011 · 7,280 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleUsing Unique-Prime-Factorization Theorem to Mine Frequent Patterns without Generating TreeHossein Tohidi, Hamidah IbrahimProblem statement: Ffrequent patterns are patterns that appear in a data set frequently. Finding such frequent patterns plays an essential role in mining associations, correlations and many other interesting relationships among data. Approach: Most of the previous studies adopt an Apriorilike approach. For huge database it may need to generate a huge number of candidate sets. An interest solution is … …American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 7 Jan 2011 · 8,839 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePattern Based Communication System and Its Performance Characteristics Compared to the Matched FilteringOzgur Orcay, Berk UstundagProblem Statement: Pattern Based Communication System (PBCS) aims to handle two prominent restrictions in communication lines. These are the inefficient utilization of the bandwidth under the spectrum limitations and sensitivity of the data transmission rate to the variation of Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). Approach: The key point of PBCS is to construct the optimal communication signals, which consist of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 16 Dec 2010 · 7,288 accessesView PDFCite
