Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEvolution of Neural Controllers for Robot Navigation in Human EnvironmentsGenci Capi, Hideki TodaProblem statement: In this study, we presented a novel vision-based learning approach for autonomous robot navigation. Approach: In our method, we converted the captured image in a binary one, which after the partition is used as the input of the neural controller. Results: The neural control system, which maps the visual information to motor commands, is evolved online using real … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 6,784 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Novel Navigation Algorithm for Hexagonal Hexapod RobotMohiuddin Ahmed, Md. Raisuddin Khan, Md. Masum Billah, Soheli FarhanaProblem statement: Wheeled robots are not very well suited for navigation over uneven terrains. Hexapod robots have some advantages over wheeled robots when negotiating and navigating on rugged terrain. Approach: Different gaits of hexapods can be developed for different kinds of locomotion and obstacle avoidance. Results: In this research a novel algorithm has been developed for hexapod robots navigation. Conclusion: … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2010 · 7,869 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleVision Based Reconstruction Multi-Clouds of Scale Invariant Feature Transform Features for Indoor NavigationAbbas M. Ali, Md Jan NordinProblem statement: Navigation for visually impaired people needs to exploit more approaches for solving problems it has, especially in image based methods navigation. Approach: This study introduces a new approach of an electronic cane for navigation through the environment. By forming multi clouds of SIFT features for the scene objects in the environment using some considerations. Results: The system gives … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,220 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRoundup of Graphical Navigation Helpers on the WebChabane Khentout, Mahieddine Djoudi, Lamri DouidiDespite the recent research, the Web remains mainly constituted of an ever-growing network of documents. As it becomes easier to publish documents, as the number of users and thus publishers, increases and as the number of documents grows, searching for information is turning into a cumbersome and time-consuming operation. Because of the loose interconnection between documents, people have difficulty remembering … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2007 · 6,839 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSupporting Tools to Simplify the Navigation Process over the WebChabane Khentout, Mahieddine Djoudi, Lamri DouidiWe Navigation through the Web has problems of positioning and space-temporal reference marks. Therefore, it’s necessary to design some computer-aided tools to help the user to position himself in space and time during a navigation session. The user is provided with a map of visited sites, thus giving an explicit representation of virtual space. Various levels of visualization are set … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2006 · 6,672 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance Prediction Model for Predictive Maintenance Based on K-Nearest Neighbor Method for Air Navigation Equipment FacilitiesRachmat Hidayat, Ditdit Nugeraha UtamaThe aging of air navigation facilities leads to a decline in equipment performance and reliability, posing significant challenges for aviation organizations in the large-scale replacement of outdated systems, as well as in managing budgets and resources. To address these issues, a performance prediction model for equipment was developed using the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) method, aimed at enhancing maintenance planning and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 4 · 4 Mar 2025 · 5,653 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleUnicycle Robot’s Navigation Control with Obstacle Avoidance and Asymptotic StabilityJuan Andrés Roteta Lannes, Andres Gabriel GarciaThis study builds upon the groundbreaking research of Asymptotic stability of unicycle-like robots with the Bessel’s controller continuing the exploration of asymptotic stability for non-holonomic robots through kinematic modeling that allows for obstacle avoidance. utilizing the previously derived Bessel's controller, the study defines an avoidance region containing obstacles, presenting an algorithm that relies solely on the distance to the obstacle. … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 17, Issue 1 · 28 Feb 2024 · 5,037 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleStar Catalog Generation for Satellite Attitude Navigation Using Density Based ClusteringMuhammad Arif Saifudin, Bib Paruhum Silalahi, Imas Sukaesih SitanggangA new method to generate star catalog using density-based clustering is proposed. It identifies regions of a high star density by using Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Application with Noise (DBSCAN) algorithm. Reducing the number stars performed by storing the brightest star in each cluster. The brightest star and all non-clustered members are then stored as a navigation star candidate. Monte … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 12 · 1 Feb 2016 · 6,970 accessesView PDFCite
