Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAdaptive Multi-Path Routing for Load Balancing in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksS. Soundararajan, R. S. BhuvaneswaranProblem statement: Load balancing and network congestion are the major problems in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET) routing. Most of the existing routing protocols provide solutions to load balancing or congestion or fault-tolerance, individually. Approach: We propose congestion controlled adaptive multi-path routing protocol to achieve load balancing and avoid congestion in MANETs. The algorithm for finding multi-path routes computes fail-safe multiple … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 18 Feb 2012 · 7,449 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSystem of One to Three Umpire Security System for Wireless Mobile Ad hoc NetworkC. Rajabhushanam, A. KathirvelProblem statement: A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a self-created self-organized and self-administering set of nodes connected via wireless links without the aid of any fixed infrastructure or centralized administrator. Protecting the network layer from malicious attacks is an important and challenging issue in both wired and wireless networks and the issue becomes even more challenging in the case … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 19 Oct 2011 · 7,241 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAcknowledgment based Reputation Mechanism to Mitigate the Node Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksK. Gopalakrishnan, V. Rhymend UthariarajProblem statement: The cooperation between the nodes is essential to discover and maintain routes in mobile ad hoc network. Due to the presence of misbehaving nodes, the node cooperation is not always guaranteed as the nodes agreed during the route discovery phase. This phenomenon results in frequent network partitioning and it makes the routing process difficult. It also degrades the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 14 Jul 2011 · 6,567 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Secure Routing Protocol to Eliminate Integrity, Authentication and Sleep Deprivation Based Threats in Mobile Ad hoc NetworkEdna Elizabeth Nallathambi, Radha Sankararajan, Vaithiyanathan Sundaram, Gracelin SheebaProblem statement: Network security in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a major issue. Some of the attacks such as modification, impersonation, Time To Live (TTL) and sleep deprivation are due to misbehaviour of malicious nodes, which disrupts the transmission. Some of the existing security protocols such as ARAN, SAODV and SEAD are basically used to detect and eliminate one … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,817 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleVarying Overhead Ad Hoc on Demand Vector Routing in Highly Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkV. Balaji, V. DuraisamyProblem statement: An inherent feature of mobile ad hoc networks is the frequent change of network topology leading to stability and reliability problems of the network. Highly dynamic and dense network have to maintain acceptable level of service to data packets and limit the network control overheads. This capability is closely related as how quickly the network protocol control overhead … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,997 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleMobile Ad Hoc Network Security for Reactive Routing Protocol with Node Reputation SchemeA. Suresh, Dr. K. DuraiswamyThe mobile node’s reputation in the Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) identifies its trust worthiness for secured multiple data communication. Unknown nature of the node’s communication status for initial period has great impact in the effective data transfer as MANET is self-organized and distributed. Problem statement: The functional operation of the mobile network relies on the trusty cooperation between the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 6,988 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleReliable and Efficient Broadcasting in Asymmetric Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Minimized Forward Node List AlgorithmMarimuthu Murugesan, Ammasai KrishnanProblem statement: Network wide broadcasting is a fundamental operation in ad hoc networks. In broadcasting, a source node sends a message to all the other nodes in the network. Unlike in a wired network, a packet transmitted by a node in ad hoc wireless network can reach all neighbors. Therefore, the total number of transmissions (Forwarding nodes) used as the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 27 Dec 2010 · 7,577 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleThe Use of Taguchi Method to Determine Factors Affecting the Performance of Destination Sequence Distance Vector Routing Protocol in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksHazura. Mohamed, Muhammad Hisyam Lee, Mazalan Sarahintu et al.In this study, Taguchi method was used to identify the several factors that may affect the performance of Destination Sequence Distance Vector (DSDV) routing protocol. The performance of DSDV routing protocol in mobile ad hoc networks were greatly influence by factors such as node speed, node pause time and traffic load. Problem statement: By using orthogonal experimental design and analysis … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,797 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAnt Colony Based Node Disjoint Hybrid Multi-path Routing for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkB. Kalaavathi, K. DuraiswamyMobile Ad hoc Networks are characterized by multi-hop wireless links, without any infrastructure and frequent node mobility. A class of ant colony based routing protocols has recently gained attention because of their adaptability to the network changes. AntHocNet is ant colony based hybrid algorithm, which combines reactive path setup with proactive path probing, maintenance and improvement. Multi-path routing represents a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 7,043 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Novel Multicast Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksZeyad M. Alfawaer, GuiWei Hua, Noraziah AhmedIn mobile ad hoc networks, how to achieve the multicast communication is a challenging task due to the fact that the topology may change frequently and communication links may be broken because of users' mobility. We introduced MANHSI (Multicast for Ad hoe Network with hybrid Swarm Intelligence) protocol, which relies on a swarm intelligence based optimization technique to learn and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2007 · 7,297 accessesView PDFCite
